Two stars for having the right listing at the right time, but for decorating my entire experience with a heavy helping of incompetence. I love the apartment I eventually landed with Bohemia, but felt like I had to do most of the work to make this place livable.

Although I made it clear several times that I would be okay with a sooner mid-month move in or a later first of the month move in, Bohemia made the executive decision for me to move in sooner. In principle, this would have been fine, except for the fact that it resulted in me losing two weeks on my lease and it meant the apartment was not in proper shape when I moved in.

As for every other apartment I have ever had in New York, I passed on a list of (basic!) requests before moving in, including filling all of the holes in the walls, replacing light bulbs, repainting walls, cleaning the windows, etc. Apparently, Bohemia never bothered to pass on that list to anyone with the building management. So the first month of my new place has been getting all of these basic things done. It turned out filling the holes in the apartment was especially critical, as there is a bug infestation from the apartment below, which Bohemia also did not bother to disclose.

I have spent a lot of time and some money getting these issues resolved, all of which would have easily been alleviated if Bohemia had done its job to convey my requests and offered the later move in date. Add to that, my agent miscommunicated quite a few details, including a nice little scare that I was responsible for setting up a water account, even though renters in Manhattan do not pay for water.

All in all, a terrible and stressful experience for what could have been an easy rental.

In response to Bohemia's response - in case it wasn't clear, a theme of my review is that I have had to do Bohemia's work. How about you use my contact info you have on file to get in touch instead of asking me to email you?
