This is one of the symbols of London. A visit is a must at least once in a lifetime. Entry is not cheap, though. I also strongly recommend getting there early, especially at week ends: queues are massive, particularly with the new checks. Note that you can get a queue both outside and inside to the many attractions as well, especially to see the jewels.
