When we started using the vests 4 years ago it was to save us from having to buy a new car when our 3rd child came along. Now he is old enough to use the vest as well. My oldest has 5-stepped out of car seats. My other two children use the vest everyday. We love it for everyday use and especially when we travel. I can't imagine traveling with kids and car seats once they reach the age to use the vest. I think that would just be silly. :-)
