Received a call from their recruiter based on an ad. He scheduled a phone interview for a couple days later and right before the phone interview- 10 minutes before- cancels because a client wanted to talk to him. Okay- I get we applicants are second class citizens to recruiters, so he suggested 9:30 Monday as a make-up time. I immediately agreed via email. Monday came around and no call- no email. I left him a message and an email asking what happened. Nothing. Radio silence. Tuesday afternoon I emailed teh CEO to let him know how unprofessional that behavior is to applicants. To his credit, CEO was not defensive. Received a call 30 minutes later from recruiter with a lame apology, telling me he called and didn't get my emails. Can't even admit being wrong. Then he says the job was already filled. Really? Over the weekend? This kind of behavior from recruiters is not unusual unfortunately. C andidates are not clients, so they don't get the same treatment.
