I hope that my mother never has the misfortune of being trapped in this dungeon of a hospital ever again. She was to arrive for a procedure at 8:00 A.M and arrived promptly at 7:45 A.M. for whatever reason, she wasn't taken in until 11:30 and was in the recovery room until late afternoon. Visiting hours are until 2-6 apparently. I called to confirm and the man on the phone stated that it was 2-8. My mother even said since they took their sweet time doing the procedure, visitors would be allowed. Once I heard news she was in her room, I arrived at 6:00 P.M. to be told visiting hours were over. Luckily, I was let in to visit for a bit
My mother is a fall-risk and it was written on the nurses board as special instructions. My mother for some reason was wary about calling for help and attempted to use the bathroom on her own. An alarm went off and the nurses said she must press the button to call for help. When my mother pressed the button next time to help, not only did they take long to come, they told her to use her walker. This is why she did not want to call for help because she would receive incompetent responses or delay. Lastly they take her down to get xrays; she was the first one there and the last one seen. Why? I'll gladly stop my work and take care of her if your staff is too incompetent to do so.
P.S. They also gave her burnt broccoli to eat, like a dog. These people are lucky this did not go on in my presence. If I hear of one more mistreatment towards my mother, I am personally up there.
