This review specifically outlines the SERVICE department and is not representative of the sales department. I took my AMG G63 in to have the rear window repaired as it was stuck in the down position, which i'm told is a common issue. The service rep initially suggested the usual cost to repair this issue was around $250-$300. I soon receive an invoice for $1,900 for the window repair and another $980 for now an awfully suspicious "airbag" light that is now on the dash (mind you I've never seen that light in the 7 years of ownership of the vehicle) perhaps they triggered something whilst removing the window and triggered the side airbag sensor? Regardless, they were nice enough to offer a $980 service to repair said light that presumably triggered. I called another Mercedes dealership where the vehicle was previously maintained, and my previous service advisor told me the rear window repair is a $298 part and approx. 1 hour of service. "Should be $500 maximum". I told him what Mercedes of Tampa was charging me and he immediately told me to get my car out of there as they are clearly over-charging. One could assume they see an expensive vehicle pull in and never serviced there and they over-charge 5 times the cost of repairs, who knows. Regardless this should me a major red flag when another Mercedes dealership recommended i cancel the service because they are overtly over charging. Im sure they have been doing this for years, and its quite sad to see. Are there any dignified and genuine service centers still around, or are they a thing of the past? I highly recommend avoiding this slimy service center at all costs and perhaps reaching out to an independent mechanic in the area.
