I recently switched to Mate desktop and I am loving it so far. The interface is clean and modern, with a focus on simplicity. It is a breath of fresh air compared to some other desktop environments out there. The performance is impressive, with quick and smooth transitions between applications. The customization options are also extensive, allowing me to truly make the desktop my own. I particularly like the ability to choose different window managers.
