Quite some Hippothamus' can be observed in Lake Naivasha - which makes it perhaps less of an attractive place for swimming, although the local fishermen seem to be willing to take the risk. It is however possible to observe them from Hippo Point, or alternatively take a boat ride from crescent Island or another location to go and see the impressive animals from fairly up close.
