Plantation Rehab was chosen for our 83-yr mom because they were PICC line certified, but we had to wait 2 days for the equipment which delayed her treatment. I was later told at the Hospital that the dressing should have been dated and the lines capped or protected.

No communication between physical therapy and nurses. I saw improvement when 1 aide had mom walk to toilet. Next aide was pushing- she said mom cannot walk on her own. Told her what I saw & continued to prove my point by taking mom with walker in hallway, down elevator and outside for fresh air. No one took my mom for "walks" so how was she to walk and get out?

The day before discharge, I arrived at 2.15 pm to find mom laying on the floor. Staff determined she had 45 mins max since her nurse went to lunch at 1.30. Transport took us to a NEW hospital for more tests and blood for over 7 hours. All was well but how catastrophic!

Mom was scared to be alone her last night but finally walked out after 49 consecutive days of hospitals/rehabs. Some staff genuinely do care so if your loved one is there, be sure to visit often!
