When I was probably about 12 I came to his hell hole after having a 50-80 pound hockey net crush my head between the ice. I was treated by paramedics and firefighters at the scene and rushed to the ER. At St. Luke s they have an ambulance bay which is where I was brought. Upon arrival my mom called ahead to let them know what happened and that we were pulling in. We were greeted by a security guard who helped me into the ER. He then found a doctor who dismissed me into the Urgent Care waiting room. After an hour of waiting I began to lose sensation on my left side. I found this out when I began to slur my speech and could no longer tie my shoe. We were moved to a private waiting room where I began to develop a headache. After waiting another 30 minute to an hour I was taken into the ER. In the ER I was met by very nice nurses and the worst doctor I ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I was bleeding from behind the ear and in and out of consciousness. Instead of doing a proper exam or even a CT scan after having a massive hit to the head, I was sent home. At home I was laying in bed and just got worse. I began to become even more out of it as my speech went so slurred I could say a word correctly and I was unable to walk because of the numbness on my left side. I was then rushed to St. Mary s Medical Center in Duluth where I had a CT scan done and was observed for a few hours. The CT was clean and I was luckily ruled to have a concussion. Sure, maybe nothing serious came out of this but the problem is what if I had had an inter-cranial hemorrhage? I was dismissed and untreated at St. Luke s
