This is an enormous property with a great history. I would budget at least half a day to properly explore all the areas. The highlight for me was getting a chance to see the crown jewels in person - they are stunning. One tip: Go later in the day - it will be much less crowded and the line to get into the building with the crown jewels will have almost no wait within one hour of closing time.
