I took my kids to Splash Universe yesterday and while the kids had a great time, I can say I will not return. The water-park itself isn't bad, but I wouldn't trust the lifeguard staff as they seem to only hire minors who are improperly trained. The biggest problem however was when we went to eat at the "Treehouse Pub and Grub" (the resorts only restaurant). While there I overheard one of the workers talking with some of the drinking customers at the bar. The main topic seemed to be the workers drug habits. He explained to the customers that he had been to jail twice for drugs in the past, and how he really doesn't care, he still continues to do them. This was happening within earshot of my children. He even shared a story about how he had been injured on the job within the last year and had to take a drug test for workmans comp, and failed that, and that his manager at the time helped cover it up for him. I had had enough of this talk around my kids, and asked my server to talk to the manager, at which point I was told that the manager was this guy talking about drugs (his name is "Buddy"). It was a large disappointment to find out this resort made for kids, would employ drug abusers to work around my children, let alone give them some sort of management position. I won't give my money to a company that in-turn gives it to people supporting drug use. This is not a child friendly atmosphere, and as I said, I will not be returning.
