All I can say is that you take pride in your Shangri La brand because I recieved the same warm service across your other hotels, even at the more affordable Hotel Jen chain, the warmth of the Shangri La brand is apparent. However, the world is changing and with that comes the attitude of some of the younger 'strawberry generation' staff who can sometimes be nonchalant and think that attention to details are not of importance. This affects the whole hotel & service industry unfortunately, not only your hotel. For example, during my stay, I brought my kids to buds indoor playground. On the morning of our checkout day, we discovered the other part of buds, the outdoor play area. When I questioned the staff why I wasn't informed of the outdoor play area the day before, she casually answered "I wasn't working yesterday, so I don't know." A very appalling reaction, in the service line, to simply put it as 'not my problem'. I emailed my feedback on the staff's nonchalant attitude and promptly received a service recovery call just before checking out from the room. An apology would suffice but your staff went the extra mile in offering complimentary vouchers for Buds to my kids. That really warmed me. Other instances that blew me through the roof was when the shuttle bus we queued up for was full and you provided a cab ride to ION Orchard for us and I am really grateful for that. Also, I had requested for the room to be decorated with balloons, as the staycation was intended as a celebration for my girl's milestone, going into pri. 1 next year. But again, you went out of the way and gave a personalized card and gifts for my girl. She was really happy to see her name, made her feel special. Thank you for that. There is no doubt the service I experienced here is one of the best in Singapore, even surpassing the Ritz and I am convinced to always get the best from the Shangri La brand. I have never thought to stay here before, usually choosing hotels that are more accessible to malls and other amenities but after this stay, I will make sure we stay here at least once a year.
