We visited in mid-July, so it was a good three weeks before Maine wild blueberry season started. What this meant was that there were no fresh blueberries to be bought. Lots of little kitschy, interesting, touristy type items for sale, along with their homemade pies and scones. We had a piece of their pie, which to be honest, wasn't all that spectacular. We had a piece of Maine wild blueberry pie at Helen's Restaurant in Machias that surpassed everything else with eating on this trip! If you are near Machias and you want good pie, go to Helen's. This place was kind of a fun stop on a rainy day, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way again to go there.
