This is described as a Victorian experience, and it's not wrong. The accommodation is adequate (barely) but unless you like sharing bathrooms and such be sure to either book a room with ensuite or a cabin.
The room we had was supposedly with a King bed, which turned out to be 2 singles pushed together, one side soft and the other hard.
Power points were very few so here is a tip - take a power board.
Cupboards are ancient and their doors only open half way because of closeness to other furniture and bed, at least in the room we had. (The Victorian Experience)
No air conditioning except for the BOILER !!! which cuts in around 4ish every afternoon for about 4 hours, and about 6am for 2 hours it seemed and sends either steam or hot water though the pipes in every room.

Mobile reception is limited to Telstra ONLY unless you drive out of the valley.
No televisions in rooms. No phones in rooms for even reception.
No bar. Sorry there is a bar but it doesn't open until 4pm.
There IS Wifi, at least in the House.

If you like climbing, and you wouldn't really be visiting here unless you did, then apart from the Caves themselves the Carpark above the House is good exercise.
All this sounds pretty negative heh, but there are some good things about this out of the way place.

There are lots of open blazing fires to keep you snuggly if you get close enough.
They have Electric Blankets, I assume in all rooms, which somewhat compensated for the coolness until the BOILER came on, but your not normally in bed that early.

The caves speak for themselves and nobody could be negative about them, you would need a month to explore even half of them and a day between each tour to recover, AND at least a 32 Gb SD card in your camera. Between us we took over 500 pix in just two cave tours. Some I will upload if it accepts.
Don't forget to fill your tank. It's only about 50km from Oberon but there is no petrol down here.
Oh and on your way home (leave after 10am) go via Jenolan Caves Road toward Katoomba and when you get to Hampton (about 30kms), there is a Hotel/Motel called the Hampton Halfway which serves fantastic breakfasts at very reasonable prices, and has great views, and a nice woman who owns a white Commodore.
