It's a really nice way to spend a leisurely aftern...

It's a really nice way to spend a leisurely afternoon (or morning) just strolling around Old Town. But it's really hard to resist the temptation of food as well. Besides the myriad of shops to mill around in, there are also a lot of restaurants. My personal favorite The Cafe Coyote is at the far end of Old Town, but well worth the journey. We usually do a casual walk through first, in and out of the various historical buildings (to build up our appetite, so to speak), then we eat. On the way back down we hit the little stores that sell all types of Mexican paraphernalia, my daughters each bought a dress the last time we were there. It's a good place to spend half a day, if you have time to kill. It's definitely not a full day's journey. But it's still nice and we make it a point to go there on every trip to San Diego.
