This place advertises on helping people...but they really operate on stealing people's identity. I should know because they stole mine.

Like many people I came across some difficult times in my life with an unexpected medical condition that forced me to stop working. I had the every day commitments of rent, food, bills, and all else to make a household run. Help from my family and friends stretched only so far, so I turned to one of the JUF contacts for assistance. JUF (Jewish United Fund) has been around for a long time. Being Jewish myself it seemed like the right route to go.

Why then did they ask me for my social security card...not just the number only...but the real physical card and my driver's license...take them both from me...make a copy of them together on paper...and have me sign to it. Plus ask me what my credit score is. This is all needed just to get free food from the greater Chicago food depository? They don't pay for that food. It is given to Ezra free from the government. Plus none of that food is Kosher at all. Isn't this a Jewish organization? They advertise Kosher but don't deliver it.

Of course all my personal identifying information wasn't need so I can have access to food donations. It was taken from me so they can steal my identity, which began a few days later after signing up with them. I have a close friend that is a private investigator who found the trace of my stolen identity leading to Ezra's computer system.

The crooks opened up two credit cards in my name, a Citibank and a Capital One. The letters in the mail and the phone calls started to flood my way also from these credit card companies. It will take years to clear up the mess Ezra left in my good name.

The nerve of this non-profit operating under the Jewish religion to hurt and destroy people's lives rather than help. They need to be called out and investigated by the public.

I am leaving this feedback as a warning for others not to turn to Ezra for any help what so ever. You will regret it as I have found out. If there was such a rating as zero stars or negative stars I would rate Ezra in that field. Too bad one star is as low as I can put them.

Shame on you Mark, Damian, Molly, Abby, Joelle, and everyone else on staff at Ezra for running such a dirty, sneaky, and conniving business advertised as helping the poor, the sick, the homeless, and the needy.

P.S.
The word "Ezra" is literally the Hebrew word for "Help," but according to the Ezra Multi-Service Center the word "Ezra" translates into something different for them..."Steal."
