They are very good at scamming one into a contract. I was young and dumb and they conned me into a 2 year contract--my fault. That itself wasn't the bad part. It's a reasonable price--$40 per month. That's the deal you get when you sign on your first visit. If you leave and come back five minutes later they jack up the price of a membership. That's how they get you to sign on your first visit.

I ended up moving out of town (28 miles northeast of this location). You have to live outside of a 30 mile radius from a golds location to cancel your contract. I don't even want to know what they would charge for that "inconvenience" for their company.

Watch out for late fees. For some reason, payments weren't going through on my card so I constantly would pay a $10 late fee.

When your two year contract is over with, they decide to not inform you but, rather, put you on a "rollover" membership and you keep on paying until you catch on. Then you have to go in and fill out a cancellation form (even though your membership contract is through). Then they slap you with something like a $50 cancellation fee.

It's not the employees fault...it's just a shady corporation with good lawyers who know how to write a contract.

I'll never be a customer at golds again. Also, this location sucks. It's way too small for the volume of people there in the afternoon.
