This is the museum of the prestigious New York Historical Society. They have a great standing exhibit of the history of the State and rotating exhibits of small aspects of that history. The art and sculpture displayed are amazing. Of particular interest are the many pieces to be seen nowhere else of the celebrated Hudson Valley School of painters. Very interesting exhibits. Worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the following exhibits: Tiffany stained glass lamps and women photographers The restaurant is expensive.
