I bought a system from NECE last year during COVID. My contact at NECE, Roy, was very knowledgeable and always answered my emails and phone calls in a day or less. The install went super smooth, and the guys that did the installation were very polite. They left my house cleaner than when they arrived. How many contractors can you say that about?

Now, there are several comments posted here about slow inspection processes, permission to operate, inadequate signage, and slow responses from NECE on these issues. I too suffered all of these issues. It's an expensive project with at least four separate parties involved. You should expect a hiccup or two. NECE stayed with me the whole time and was happy for me to withold the final large payment till it was all settled. They understand the process.

Its important to keep in mind that you the system owner and NECE both need to deal with the utility and the town. Both the utility and the town have folks who are overworked and underpaid and have a say in this process. Have some patience, the system will get installed and you'll get your free electricity. You'll own the system for 20+ years, so go with NECE and you'll have a system that looks sharper than the one on your neighbors house and that you'll be proud to have on your house the whole time, long after you forgot about the permitting process.
