I am a user of the Kuali financial service (KFS), and I have found it a frustrating and asinine system to use. Relative to 4 other universities I have worked at (each of which used different competitor services), KFS is the most time consuming and poorest quality product. There is a lack of transparency and access to financial documents I created, and a cumbersome level of nested boxes which operate the database queries. Their slogan is something like "Keep your money in your mission" (and I really like altruistic the idea of a non-profit developing software for universities), but I cringe when thinking about how many people hours are lost by the administrators, staff, students and faculty who use this software for university business.
