Earlier this year I started seeing double because a previously undiagnosed case of strabismus (inward eye turn in my left eye) was starting to make itself known. Evidently as I've gotten older and spent more time focusing on computers and other screens, my brain started losing its capacity to correct for it. So, although no one could really see that I had a lazy eye when talking to me, I could barely drive anymore for the double vision. I ended up getting referred to Rocky Mountain Eye Care and Dr. Peterson from a Lasik provider who I had gone to in the hope that improving my vision overall would get my brain to stop trying to "ignore" the one eyeball, but evidently that wouldn't work and I would need surgery. Can't blame me for trying! Dr. Peterson and the staff made sure I was a good candidate and then had me through for a surgery pretty quickly, and while the recovery was fairly rough (no complications, just a whole lot of aching eyeball and ice packs!) I can't really expect much more when they had to detach muscles and stuff. But now it's been a few months, I've had a bunch of follow-ups with them to make sure everything was going well which I really appreciated, my eye works great, and I've since went back and gotten that Lasik after all. This surgery has a lot of risk of not being good enough or getting a bad result, but it's been great and I'm SO glad I went through with it and had such a talented team to make it happen! A+, would recommend!
