Not, in our opinion, a five star hotel. The bed, sitting chairs and couch in our 463 per night Avenue Suite were hard as rocks. We were told the drinks (consisting of one bottled water, one coke and one other canned drink) in the mini-bar were complimentary and would be refreshed daily, but they were not refreshed any of the three days we were there. The cleaning service (the one day we allowed it) was sub-par. The avenue view was not at all what we expected. We were on the third floor and the suites below ours seemed to have a balcony so they could actually experience the venue, but our suite had no balcony or view to speak of.

At check-in, a man who was never introduced to us (and never spoke to us) started walking away with our bags. We told him that we were fine and did not need help, but he would not stop walking away with our luggage. Luckily, check-in finished and we walked over and just took our luggage back. I am still not sure what his roll was, as there was not enough room for three adults and their bags all on the elevator at once.

Coming and going from the hotel over the next three days was met with occasional stares from those behind the check-in desk, but little to no acknowledgement that we were in their presence.

The one bright moment was interacting with the young lady that checked us in. We did not get her name, or see her again during our stay. She was very warm and welcoming.

Earlier this year we stayed at a hotel less than a block from Hotel Napoleon, and the differences were striking. We would not stay here again.
