If I could give them zero stars I would. Wha...

If I could give them zero stars I would. What began as a rough night for her became a complete nightmare. My sister had an episode around six months ago when she experienced stroke like symptoms but was told she likely had a brain conversion or even just an extreme migraine that mimicked stroke like symptoms. They never had a conclusive diagnosis. She experienced a similar episode last night that left her with impaired speech, trouble walking (one side of her body weaker than the other) and severe head pain. Once she got to the ER at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe they were in no hurry to see her although she was in unbearable pain. Once they took her back she witnessed two nurses making fun of her stutter and laughing at her... but it gets worse! After running some blood tests that we still don t have the results to and a ct scan, they brought her cell phone and her jewelry out to her husband and told him that he had lost all rights to her. That because she was having trouble walking that she was a danger to herself and they would be admitting her to a psychiatric hospital against her will and without the consent of all her family members. (Mind you, she has a walker at home!) This is without a MRI or her seeing a neurologist. They literally took her cell phone away, a grown and brilliant woman, and were treating her like she was unstable because she was speaking with a stutter and having trouble walking. She exhibited only physical symptoms and had no mental ailments whatsoever. This was all happening with a husband who was there and perfectly capable of taking care of her! The woman I spoke with on the phone refused to let me speak with my sisters attending nurse and was extremely rude and hung up on me. After many phone calls and my sister pleading her case the physician finally agreed to just keep her overnight until a neurologist could actually come see her in the morning.. We all felt pretty helpless there for a minute and I m just praising God that they didn t send her there. She was absolutely terrified. There are even more unpleasant details that I could share but this is the jest of it. Please don t EVER take your loved one to the Glenwood Regional Medical Center; they are cruel, negligent and unethical.
