I got several bids to paint the exterior of my three story town home in Atlanta. The painting company was fairly priced and the salesperson detailed and knowledgeable. Scheduling was easy and they were able to start soon.
That, however, might have been the first red flag.
Once the contract was signed, not much else went right. The first project manager didn't know she had the project. I was re-assigned to a new PM, and lost a day. The power was crew missed most of the third story because they didn't have a tall enough ladder. That added another day to come back and re do it. The painting team did not prep any thing, so they just painted over the old caulking, painted the edge of the windows (no taping) and dripped paint on the brick (no drop cloths). Luckily, I did not pay them until I had time to inspect a few days later when the paint dried. Cracks needed repairs. In some areas the paint was so thin, small cracks were not filled. Paint drops on the brick with everywhere.
I think I'm most frustrated with the culture of the PM and management. They will hassle you to get paid but when you need something done of or fixed, they don't seem to have the time and its takes weeks to accomplish.
One month later, I am still trying to get them to finish. The office manager calls me regularly for payment and the PM never calls to get the work finished.
I would never use this company again.
