Excellent for families with younger children. I recommend getting the Family membership! Plenty of Zoo Events, but are always really crowded.

Edit- we've moved out of CA, and our new local zoo cannot compare to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! Fresno's zoo has TONS of activities that many other zoos don't (Dino Dig, Stingray Bay, the bird show, giraffe feedings, Small Wonders petting zoo..) in addition to the best exhibits I've seen in nationwide (African Adventure, Sea Lion Cove ..)
