Bought a 2019 Subaru Outback 3.6R from Subaru Penrith in late October.

We made some discoveries about how Trivett Automotive conducts business that resulted in being able to buy a car that was much newer and much better specced than originally expected for only slightly more money than the original budget we set out to spend.

My original plan was to buy a used/demo 2017/2018 2.5i Outback as I generally avoid buying new these days, but a demo 2019 3.6R that they had was only four months old with less than 3,000 kilometres on it was only marginally more expensive than the 2.5i and it was also available in the colour I wanted. I made a $10K saving over new for a four month old 3.6R, so I left a very happy camper!

While the sales pitch for extras is always there, it was done in a manner that didn`t push, shove or guilt you into buying. This was better than previous car buying experiences I`ve had before.

The interest rate for Subaru Finance is still far too high in the current 2019 market, so I financed elsewhere, but the Subaru Insurance (Allianz) quote was better than any other quote I got, with the new-for-old deal being longer than other insurers as well (and they will happily quote for ANY car, not just cars bought from them).
