Apparently this is a learning campus. It is staffed mostly with residents, interns and students lead by a professional doctor. I understand that learning is critical, but it is my opinion that it adversely affects wait and diagnosis times. I waited 12 days for an MRI when it was cancelled as 1 MRI machine was out of service for these almost 2 weeks. I was discharged with no diagnosis and no prognosis after a 3 week stay with bilateral shoulder injury. My medical team admitted that they were baffled with my condition. Also my first doctor that I was assigned to never met with me in 10 days. Ever. I requested a new doctor. Also the charge nurse never met with me either after several requests. Nurses are generally respectful, professional and caring. Some however have the personality of a small soap dish... Also Paladin security is terrible. I was confused and disoriented and was lost on the second floor when I should have been on the 3rd floor. Security escorted me to the exit asked me to leave the hospital. They never asked if I was a registered patient nor did they ask to see my ID bracelet. Due to their negligence I missed being connected to the IV and missed receiving my meds that night. I was cordial, co-operative and pleasant, certainly not belligerent or aggressive.... I was just an OHIP number, staff obviously did not care for me as a human being. Pathetic really. Complaint filed with PR.
