I am truly distraught by the so called care that RML is providing. I had a hard time speaking to someone, getting a hold of the doctor, and anything and everything. My grandfather was here for a month and was very ill. I had to call many times a day to see if his doctor got around to see him or that if his cultures came back. Finally, once visiting was available I ended up seeing more of what was going on at the hospital. After having to tell the doctors how to do their job practically and having to constantly tell them his issues I finally decided to take matters into my own hands. I came to visit one day and as I was far down the hall I can hear my grandfather screaming. Without any exaggeration I rushed over to see him crying from being in so much pain where I then immediately called for his nurse to administer him morphine and call the doctor to do an MRI of his abdomen where his pain was present. After calling out for the nurse, he received tramadol which was ineffective for his pain and then after repeatedly calling the nurse and making a scene the doctor ordered morphine which stopped his pain. I then had to call many times to make sure that he was able to rest at night since he was in a great deal of pain. The doctor finally reached out to me after calling the facility an absurd amount of times where I then mentioned that he s in severe pain and that his urine was cloudy which indicated a sign of infection which chronically occurs with him. The doctor told me that I was to be patient and that the next day they will do an MRI because it was Sunday and that they weren t able to do so. I then had a huge fit and called the hospital notifying them that I will call an ambulance and have him discharged to Christ hospital immediately since he s in severe pain and nothing is being done. Upon my arrival with family members, the supervisor had called Hinsdale police since she felt that I was some sort of threat. I ended up speaking to his doctors who were refusing to discharge him claiming that I will be arrested if I continue to want to discharge him. I then notified him that what he is claiming is completely incorrect and rather yet that what he was doing was illegal. I demanded he be transferred and that I am not asking anymore. He was then discharged to Christ where his gallbladder was obstructed and inflamed to such a great degree where he was receiving such high doses of morphine and yet he still was screaming while his consciousness faded in and out. He was septic and about to die where he became hypotension and tachycardic Requiring hypertensives. Mind you, this was the last occurance that occurred and there is truly many more I can discuss. Please, by all means, do not send anyone to this facility. I ve never been so disrespected and I ve never seen such a facility to literally disregard screaming patients. After all this, a report was filed to the state of Illinois where I gladly explained the situation and after coming to my home where I care for him, they immediately disregarded the complaint as there was no reason to. I frankly would pursue suing this facility and I can guarantee that they would be at such a great deal of fault but I am more worried about my very ill grandfather who I m caring for 24/7.
