I keep voming bavk here year after year. The rafting/canoe staff are always incredible. Where the facility falls apart is the nickling and diming. The meals are generally of poor quality and quantity. For example: breakfast was two small pancakes, 2 breakfast sausages, and a scoop of packaged fried hash browns. One of the people on our trip does not eat carbs at all, he conveyed this to the staff so they very magnanimously offered him a 3rd breakfast sausage. This was his breakfast before 4hrs on the river. The concern was about limiting peoples helpings, not about fuelling people for outdoor activities. The insult to the injury was the cost of breakfast at over $13! It was included in our rafting trip but that is an atrocious price for such subpar food. The coffee is not even real...it was instant out of a machine. These are small things individually that add up to a big deal over the course of a wknd or week. I would highly recommend bringing your own food or eating somewhere else locally. That being said, for the two days of rafting I can put up with bad food...you are not there for the food but for the fun. The guides are incredible...personable and knowledgeable. The resort staff are far less personable but I suppose their job is more to enforce rules than be friendly. I come back here year after year so they are doing something right. It just irks that for an activity that requires so much energy they really drop the ball on food.
