I got a call from Bitwise for a PM Role. They took 2 rounds of interview with me. Each round was more than 1 hr long. Told me that they will close the offer soon if I clear both round. After second round I get a call that I have cleared the round with positive feedback. Then HR calls the next day and says that interviewer gave some other candidates feedback on my interview feedback link. After that he says he will get back with the correct feedback next day. Then I get a message from HR following day that the position went on hold because there has been some internal promotions going on.
My question to them is, aren't they already aware about their own promotion quota before hand? Why did they waste our time in the interview process? If they were not sure about the requirements from their end and how many would get promoted to backfill this position within their company, then why did they open it in the first place?
