This rating is specifically for their educational programs. We went today with my daughter s school for a field trip. I had been once before so I was expecting a day of learning and fun. What we got was not that.
The day started off disorganized. The staff couldn t figure out how to divide our group so we were stuck on the bus for twenty minutes with a bunch of excited first graders. Then we were rushed inside where we had to wait, again, for the first exhibit.
First exhibit was good. The kids enjoyed that immensely.
Lunch was next. The kids were squished into as few tables as possible which meant the adults couldn t sit with our kids. No big deal but when we went to sit at a different table, we were told no because it was one less for the staff to clean so we stood.
Then it was rush upstairs for labs. Upon arrival, they gave our classroom to another group so we doubled up with a different group. There weren t enough materials for all the kids. The time limit for each station was too short to even start, finish, and clean up. We spent most of the time cleaning from the previous group then saying to the kids sorry, we have to move on.
Then we were rushed to the theater. The seats were up front which I can understand why you put kid groups there but it is uncomfortable. The show was not age appropriate for our group. After ten minutes, they were bored but we couldn t leave. Most kids ended up falling asleep.
Once again, we were rushed to the last activity which was in Kidtown. We were in one area and not allowed to go to another.
I would have expected to do more than two exhibits and the movie. The disorganization was exhausting. Please do better. The lab was a waste of time as well as the movie. The kids wanted exhibits.
