Both of my mom's eyes were burning (due to chemical burn) with such pain that she couldnt open her eyes. After visited the walk-in clinic, the doctor sent my mom to trillium without treatment. By the time we arrived at the Trillium, an hour and a half passed by and my mom lost her sights temporarily. After a long wait, we finally got to the registration.. and the lady was rude and impatient. Once we were in the Minor Treatment room, a nurse gave my mom a numbing solution to ease her eye pain. Unfortunately, it would only last 15 mins. We had waiting for another hour for the doctor to come, and he sais he needed to get the staff doctor. 2 hours passed by, the so-called staff doctor did some simple eye test and said she has to refer the case to eye specialist. Another 2 hours later, the nurse came and told us my mom has to go home for the night, and visit an eye clinic on the following day! My mom was in such pain, and the doctors were not able to tell us what is going on. Not even a word! When I stopped the staff doctor to ask what is happening, she was so rude and said she was also waiting and she walked away. At one point I heard she said to the other doctor that something in my mums eyes got peeled off! Can you imagine how scared and worried I was? Next thing I know, both doctors were nowhere to be found. As a visitor, my mom paid $670 and waited 5 hours to have 2 numbing solution and 1 eye wash that we could have got from any clinic. When we finally got to the eye institute the next morning, it only took 30 minutes before the doctor gave my mom treatment, and stop the pain almost instantly. My point is, going to Trillium was a complete waste of time, and made the situation worst if anything. Horrifying experience. The lady besides my mum, a 91 years old grandma that could not walk due to severe leg pain received no treatments whatsoever after waited for 3 hours. They just sent her home and asked her to come back 9am in the morning. I over heard that the poor lady had no one to take her to the hospital, and had to pay for non-emergency ambulance each time she visits a doctor. Another patient had to wait 5 1/2 hours to get transfer to Credit Valley in pain. Make me wonder, if all they do is to tell people to come back next day / referral, why do we even need them for? Never ever again. I would not even give it 1 star.
