We had a party of four. Saturday night during the winter when it wasn't very busy.
We'd all been to King Estates before. However this evening was not our best experience.
First we ordered 3-4 cheese and meat appetizers. The boar and venison were bland with mild flavor. The cheese was great!
We ordered a white and red wine taster. Every wine but one tasted flat as if the bottles had been opened for a couple days.
I ordered their boldest red which was a Walla Walla (don't remember the grape), it was flat again.
We ordered a burger, filet mignon and two plates of the mushroom ravioli. One ravioli having salmon on top.
The filet mignonette was great. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. The vegetables were overly sweet and didn't go well with the rest of the plate.
The burger was very good.
The mushroom ravioli plates were small for the price and the ravioli were very lightly stuffed. The plate was mild and overall bland. The salmon was very good.
Overall the night from King Estates was not a very good one. We felt like the chef was holding back and not bringing his/her A game. The food was very expensive for the quality was received.
We've all been to King estates before and really liked it but it's just not the same. I don't know what happened.
When you spend a good amount of money on dinner you hope you end up with a good experience. I hope King Estates picks it back up again.
