Absolutely worth a trip for locals and tourists alike. I am a born and bred New Yorker and only recently went to this museum. The curators created a really accessible, interesting and educational exhibit with videos and historical photos documentation. I ended up staying longer than expected. I came back a month later and had lunch at Storico, their cafe/restaurant, and had an delicious shashuka. I would highly recommend a visit, particularly if you happen to the in the UWS.
