This is a wonderful place to visit with larger pieces outdoors and an uplifting exhibition of Moore's drawings and sketches in the big barn (contemporary exhibition space) until 27 October 2019. Cafe in modern rooms, serves a range of quality food. Overall, It's a must!
This is a great place to visit. Make sure you visit his house and workshop. There is a small shop where you can buy a memento of your visit. There is a nice little cafe or alternatively, The Hoops pub is next door. Moore's grave is at the little church of St. Thomas' just down the road.
Two reviews in one. Firstly the studios and gardens arr amazing. Everything is well maintained and the visitors centre is only a couple of years old and is well designed. The is a new gallery by the sheep field which architecturally is a bit barny so fits in with the local vernacular, nut inside is...
Sophie our guide in the archives was absolutely amazing, inciteful and no script. The layout and ambience wonderful. The tapestries were a sight to behold, the only let down was the food and service in the eating area, slow and expensive.
Lots of information, beautiful art, nice tour through Moores former house. We had a nice day out. Little bit expensive though and unreachable by public transport so if you don't have a car you'd have to go by taxi.
This is the most amazing place, there is a lively visitors centre, the artists house and studios, plus lots of artwork on display both indoors and outdoors. Definitely go on a dry day!
A hidden gem and sadly not open after October until the spring. It is very hard to find down narrow country lanes with no sign posts and no 4G. However well worth it. Huge grounds with very impressive statues workshops galleries and also Henry Moore's house. Very knowledgeable staff on hand. Very ne...
Fantastic day out with a wealth of well presented information about Moore's life and obviously his art. Everything about the visit was great but the cafe was lacking for those with food intolerances which isn't so good if the only nearby pub is booked out.
Great for Henry Moore fans or art fans in general. set in lovely small village with pub restaurant close by. The foundation has lovely grounds for walking. well maintained.
Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the works of Henry Moore, well kept gardens displaying sculptures plus, in non covid times, his house, studios and gallery of his drawings and paintings.
Wonderful to be able to have such an insight into Henry Moores studios and estate. Great walk through fields. Sculptures that change with every viewpoint.
Not my favourite subject but very interesting and well laid out. Some restrictions due Covid19 but still a worthwhile day out.Good tea room with a reasonable selection of food.Social distancing well organised.
Well laid out with fantastic sculptures.Nice tea room well organized but with reduced menu to to coronavirus but OK.Friendly and informative staff, great day out.
I would whole heartedly recommend taking the time to spend a day here, an amazing relaxed atmosphere with some really dedicated volunteers willing to spend time talking you through the work, great cake too!
Very inspiring place, perfect visit during a sunny day. The foundation gives an overview of Moore works and life. There's a nice cafe in the foundation but also a good pub next door. The place is not easy to reach if one is without car.
Brilliant! You need a sunny day to tour the grounds at their best, but the indoor exhibitions are good too. Very modern facilities. Great place to just "be" in the gardens. Good sense of how/where he created his works too, so one up on a standard art collection.
Brilliant homage to top British sculptor! Situated in acres of rolling English countryside outside small village.you can follow a designated trail around his studios and gardens and learn his history and view his huge sculptures in their natural settings. Helpful staff, free car park and lovely cafe...
Excellent day spent here. House well worth a look but tread carefully in overshoes-required wearing but oversized - my only critism of an otherwise perfect day. My sister who studied Moore for A level Art had waited 21 years to visit and said she wasn't disappointed. All good. Tastefully stocked gi...
exceptional, you can visit the workshop, and the exhibition walks you through all the steps in his career. The staff is definitely passionate, very knowledgeable, and open to discussion :)
What a huge park. Beautiful images of Henry Moore. His studios and house can also be visited. Definitely worth it. The foundation cannot be reached by public transport. We took a taxi.
Great place to spend a few hours examining Henry Moore's works (and get a bit of exercise). The sculptures are laid out over extensive gardens. There is a good cafe and decent toilets.
Friendliest staff ever... everyone we met along our visit was incredibly welcoming and so informative, please go on the tour of the house it's a must, you really get the real feel for the artist - if you enjoy his work or not. I can't admire the staff more, they all seemed to really enjoy being ther...
Fantastic sculptures, well set out. The grounds are well kept, with plenty to see including a flock of sheep. Plenty of open space for children. Nice cafe and gift shop. Only disappointing thing was we couldn't get lunch.
Set in peaceful English countryside. Fantastic place to wander grounds and enjoy Moore's sculptures. Clean bright restaurant selling a good aray of tea & cakes.
Fabulous lovely gardens with the statues and bronzes. Has a small dinning area inside and s terrace for outside where we drank coffee. An enjoyable day and would recommend people to visit.
Incredible place, knowledgeable staff, lovely buildings and studios. Nice kitchen located in the main reception area. The gardens are full of Moore's art, what a treat. We will definitely return!
Really nice gardens to have a walk around and take in the sculptures. The main house was closed due to the current covid situation but there's plenty more to see in the grounds
If you have an open mind on art this can be an interesting place to visit. The facilities are modern, well kept and a staff of very pleasant, knowledgeable and enthusiastic people, who want the visitor to enjoy the experience & perhaps an appreciation of Henry Moore.
Beautiful set and surroundings for the artist's sculptures, walks around them and informative workshops. Very interesting guided visit to Henry Moore's house. Cultural family recommended visit
Beautiful surroundings frame the sculpted abstract - representational forms of Henry Moore's artwork to great effect. This is a gallery on an acreage scale, and partly populated by the sheep the artist found inspirational. The size of the largest sculptures, and their material, lend themselves to b...
