The Army has definitely destroyed Pope. The gym is overcrowded, has broken equipment, and is generally always dirty. The golf course is an overgrown snake and rat sanctuary now. The dining halls had an outstanding bad smell. But its nature is untouched and preserved in a wonderful way. Easy access to base because it is on the All American Highway expressway. The sports facilities were good.
