The phone system is pathetic. It's all but impossible to get through to talk to anyone. If and when you get to speak to an operator and they transfer you to a specific area it goes right back to the automated system and your right back where you started.
I cannot reach any of the numbers in the clinic. Now I have to drive up to the VA, wait over an hour for a walk-in just so that the doctor can tell me something that he could have said over the phone.
This is the second visit to this facility and I'm very impressed with the speed of the appointments and lab work. Yes, it's difficult to make an appointment over the phone but that's the only problem I've encountered. I even walked in today at 8am, saw the nurse, bloodwork, dr and prescriptions all ...
All the staff I've dealt with over the years has been wonderful. During some serious health problems I had the doctor's made their own phone calls to me. The staff and doctors are all keepers.
Worst hospital EVER for veterans. The staff are always extremely rude and unprofessional. Especially the ones working the primary care desk! Smacking on gum, not fully listening to your symptoms and always checking their personal phones. I really hate this place. It is ashame i fought for this c...
Its unacceptable to spend multiple days on the phone never speaking to anyone just being on hold. If you do get an answer its usually because the phone system sent you to the main switchboard because no one answers phones ever. Its hard enough getting to see a doctor without waiting months but near ...
My provider at the Austin VS is excellent and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. The facility is also new and most of the time when an go in for blood work I'm in and out in no time. I also find most staff are very nice and want to help people. I've only encountered a few rude sta...
I can't find one negative thing to say about this facility or it's staff. To heck with obama care, Medicare etc. If I'm still able to walk I'm coming here.
It s mostly okay. Most of my providers are really great. But one seems utterly clueless because I am under the age of 65. Receptionists at clinic counters are the weakest link. I got to stand in line with 4 other veterans while 2/4 were socializing, one was making a phone appointment, and the last w...
I'm not sure where to begin. I'm a veteran of the Navy and just found out I would be eligible for VA healthcare. I'm told I have to appear at the clinic to make an appointment. I drive the 50 minutes to the Metropolis location. The first day I arrive in January, I'm told I should have called to make...
This facility provides one of the best care giving experienced in over 30 years. Anyone not recognizing this has an unreal expectation of medical care. When you consider the number of patients served, we are very lucky to have this facility in Austin.
I've signed up for MyHealtheVet. I order medications, check appointments, look over lab reports, and speak to the Doctor. She asked if I had signed up for that. Since, if I have any questions or problems I secure message her. I get quick responses, either from her or the nurse. One of my Doctors wa...
I have been going here at least once a month for nearly four years and it is one of the best facilities the VA has to offer, especially compared to others. I love the doctor's there and over all the staff department are great. I see the lab and pharmacy as well as occasionally the travel personnel. ...
A busy place. The doors open at 6A.M. walk in services start at 7:30 they have certain clinics from 6:30 p.m. & Saturday appointment. Services from primary care XRay, MRI, pharmacy, eatery, ,a lab
I've left in tears every time I've gone as I'm missing s leg and they never help. I dre why vets kill themselves. Its almost like they screw you on purpose to see if you will...
I finally have an excellent primary care doctor at this clinic, but MH providers here have gone from bad to just atrocious. The last one I was assigned to (very skinny Caucasian male, formerly worked with PRISON INMATES, whose name I cannot remember) was the absolute WORST. EVER. I ve given up on ge...
I transferred from Los Angeles. At the eligibility counter the lady told me to go back to LA... the guy working next to her was rude. Finally saw a NP that wouldn't help and said after they did "research" I haven't been to the VA in over a year, well I was there 2 months ago... I've been waiting to ...
On hold just now over 33 minutes to be told something they could have put on their automated system. If you relocate you have to go to the building to be assigned another primary doctor. Just bring personal documentation, DD214 and SSN any thing from VA with your calm.
I've had a the run around for 6 months to get a surgery, still haven't got it and no one calls me back. I've called my primary care, as he won't call me back. Even the advocate won't call me back. I've left them 3 messages. His name is George Cervantes and he is the advocate at the temple va.
Beware!! I have a relative that used to work there and they told me that the machine to perform colon cleansing gave patients Hepatitis C, because they were using the same adapter for each patients colon!! Disgusting!! My father is a veteran and whenever he goes the the VA it is a disaster!! He had...
Dr. Rollinson is a nice guy, but because of his age, his office hours are EXTREMELY short which causes his appointments to have to be scheduled more than 6 months out...No one should have to wait that long to be seen.
I've always been treated right and with dignity here and at the hospital in Tucson, AZ. If anyone wants to whine, they should do it to their congress reps who don't authorize more money for help. I'm happy enough to spend some time reading my novel or newspaper while someone actually wounded in ...
Fantastic staff and quick to respond called today to report problem with cpap and got an appointment for tomorrow. Much faster than my wife s civilian care provider
Admin staff are respectful, but couldn't look less interested in helping anyone. The doctors spend more time wrestling with the slow computer system than helping patients, and the nurses, who are the backbone of the clinic seem perpetually exhausted. The wait time for lab work is ridiculous; expect ...
The way to get registered and setup appointments is to physically go to the clinic. Calling on phone is a waste of time. The staff was friendly and the building is huge. Tons of parking available. The appointments I received were weeks away. Odd I only saw 10 patients in the clinic.
I have been on the phone for about 45min. The automated system is flawed. You cannot make or change a mental health appointment without talking directly to the mental health schedulers at Austin VA. Can't tell you how many times my call was kicked to temple VA because no one at Austin is picking up ...
I'm giving this place 2 stars because I have dealt with one staff counselor who brought this review up from one star. I generally have a standing 1630 (2:30 for the rest of you) appointment. My past 2 visits I have tried to check in with Azure at one of the check in stations only to be told that t...
Since Dr. Martin has retired the care has gone down dramatically. My husband has been between two different Doctors one was horrible the second is okay, but his staff is clueless and rude. The VA should employee people who want to help and not those who think they are untouchable. I reached out on T...
Worst va I have ever been to. The staff are rude yet polite as they ignore your input. I have been there 5 times and 3 of them were for medication and they wouldn't refill them all at once. Getting anything done for disability claims is virtually impossible I have found out in my experience. Good ne...
Some staff are good. Bad Experiences with first Doctor I had assigned to me. Forget about being a walk-in patient, they never saw me in most visits when I did not have an Appointment.
They haven't killed me yet, but then I haven t given them much of an opportunity. Management really need to work on the actual care part of healthcare, aside from having some nice people that are apologetic to us as customers, I really feel like this place is a mess. I ve witnessed employees tre...
The struggle of my life, it was already bad before COVID Now nobody answers the phone. They look at you for 15 minutes before they call you to the window, while they do nothing but conversate over lunch smh. This is the WORST veteran care ever. I have been calling for a week trying to get to the Tex...
Lets see, 3-4 months to get a stinking appointment. Staff likes to give you numbers that ring and ring and ring. Choice program is a complete joke. Better pack a lunch if you need to be seen same day because it will literally take all day to be seen. Lets not get me started on blood pressure meds th...
Worse place I been for VA Care. The term FIX THE VA comes from a facility like this and how it operates. The staff are very inconsiderate, rude and just there for the Gov check nothing else. Also the wait time for appointments can be an hour before seen and then want rush you out and don't care why ...
I have had all my medical needs met, also the the clinic houses other sevice organizations that handle claims. The lab can be slow in the mornings so I go late in the afternoon when its no line.
I've had nothing but great support from this VA facility. Longest wait in the 4 years I've been coming here has been 30 minutes but it's usually under 10. Great place and super team.
The access to care is pretty bad and the reasoning they always give is they are understaffed. Yet in the year I've been recieving care at this facility, they seem to always be understaffed. I've had appointments cancelled without my knowledge and then offered an appointment two months out. Completel...
I have been going to this clinic for many years and have yet to experience any issues that are worth writing about. As one reviewer wrote, the wait time at the lab can get lengthy, but they do process a high volume of patients. Now getting someone there to answer the phone, that can be a very tryi...
The VA system is still broken and the government is trying to curve costs on treating patients. I transferred my care to this clinic from where I used to live. I was receiving medication because of a diagnosis from a VA doctor at this previous location. When I transferred I was told I would no longe...
These people are impossible to get on the phone and when they do answer they cold transfer me every time to someone who will then transfer me to a line that does not pick up. Any process that requires my information to be passed between departments to complete such as a specialty consult is guarante...
Today was my first ever visit to a VA medical facility and with all the recent publicity, I wasn't sure what to expect, but let me tell you that the VA center in Austin is a First Class facility, run by First Class people providing First Class service. Wait times were shorter than expected, the pro...
Nice multimillion dollar facility, too bad there's still NO EMERGENCY ROOM. If you have a serious illness and need help immediately, drive an hour plus and hope that you make it or go to a local ER and be ready to have bills that you likely can't pay. Look on the bright side, I guess if you don't m...
The quality of clerks helping in all stations is very disappointing, alot of the time you can just tell they are here for a check. Even asking for basic information on either locations to go for appointments, or just how to get travel pay worked out, seems to be a great burden to them, aka doing th...
I retired from the Army about 10 years ago. Always relied on my Tricare insurance for medical care. But since I get VA disability, thought I would try the Austin Clinic. It was an amazing experience and I have returned there ever since as a "regular." Once you get past the noisy lobby, the long ...
No er or urgent care is kinda scary, waiting hours just to have a simple procedure done, clearing the wax out of your ears, and you sit and watch nurses walk around not doing nothing. Va choice needs to be here, so people won't have to come here
It would be a lot easier to give this place any stars at all if I'd actually had a chance to even speak with them. I've gotten a surly answer to my phone call, a transfer, and now going on three hours on hold. This is unacceptable.
OUTSTANDINGLY horrible , on 11 January 2017 at 15:45 I was speaking with a lady on the phon about making an appointment . In the middle of the conversation she said hey it's time for me to go home and hanged up the phone, wow. If I was dying she wouldn't care two shakes because it's time to go ...
I have received excellent care at this clinic. I first went to Brooks in San Antonio where I received excellent care, but was told that I needed to go to Audie Murphy. While at Audie Murphy I received excellent care also. My follow up appointments have been with the Austin clinic. The people he...
This is a very well laid-out clinic. Unlike other hospitals and clinics where you go in the front door and then have to wind your way through a bunch of hallways and poorly marked doors, this clinic has almost everything open to a large central mall-like area. So, when you go the the information des...
I am a naturopath and I take care of my own seasonal illnesses with herbs and homeopathic remedies. I am also very in tune with my own body and I listen to what it is telling me. I eat a high fiber, low fat, low sugar, nutrient dense diet of mostly cooked and raw vegetables, making sure to get plent...
I have been coming to this facility since it opened. I stopped going to Mental health when they changed doctors on me. They took away meds I have been on for 30 years that worked and are experimenting with other meds that I don t like. Why try to fix something that works. I like my primary care doct...
Learn how to draw blood. My husband has gone twice now to get blood work done here. The area where blood was taken has severe bruising. And my husband is severely sore. Ridiculous.
Pri care dr or nurse never returns calls. I had biopsy 1 1/2 month ago still never heard a damn word about it left many messages for nurse even call main number and they say we will have them call you. nothing happens. I am 70% SC and 50% PTSD and i am. The austin clinic is terrible i hate their st...
