UCP is a part of the Punjab Group of Colleges. It was chartered by Government of the Punjab in 2002[3] and recognized by the Higher Education Commission (Pakistan).[4]

University of the central Punjab is very good University from Punjab group of college. Degree is very important in all fields. The building of the university is very wast and clean but it lacks the play ground and trees. But overall the University is good and faculty is also good
