Fab opera, absolutely fab. It was great to be able to dress up and public, and the various indoor spaces mean that picnics need not be ruined by the weather. The grounds are so pretty and the gardens are something special. Most excellent day out!
Magical experience, will definately go again. Beautiful countryside, amazing food, but most of all my first and awesome experience of Opera...I'm hooked!
An ambient amphitheatre but was mostly closed at time of visiting. Still, worth a short drive to see. Plenty of art and advice available in the Galleria.
Great Experience! I was for the first time at the Opera festival on a perfect summer day. Wonderful to have a stylish picnic in the huge garden and the opera "La Traviata" was superb.
A Wonderful place nestled into the Sussex countryside. Men all in tux and women in gowns which I would recommend as it always looks out of place to be the one who didn't dress for the occasion! I recommend you do ! A great experience and a great day to escape and enjoy watching opera whilst drinking...
A magical setting in the Sussex countryside. A world class opera house with picnics on the lawns, marquees or dine in the restaurant. The music, singing, stage settings, production and direction are world class. Tickets are available for the general public at very affordable prices. Opera is not...
Glyndebourne Opera House is a magical place whether during the Summer Season or the Winter Tour; tickets for the latter are the average cost of a high end pop concert. The operas are always beautifully staged with a mix of British & international singers and a full orchestra. Although the catering ...
What a place! Scenery is the secret: the garden is beautiful, you get drinks and dinner served if you wish, the music is magnificent you feel the joy of the artists while playing - it s a motivation to take out your best wardrobe and join the most elegant dressed people - denims would definitely be ...
Magical atmosphere. Beautiful garden for picnicking in interval. Wonderful quality of opera (Cendrillon by Massanet) Excellent air-conditioning in auditorium and facilities for disabled. Such a pity it's so very, very expensive!
I always adore Glyndebourne, the gardens are so beautiful the staff are young trained very well. Also the opera was fantastic. To make 5 star from me. I need a trolley back to carpark with my picnic things, it get taken because we need hekp but we need hekp back. Secondly I the guardians/or senor st...
Great opera. Superb funny production, marvellous music of course. Restaurant was nice but veggie main was tasteless and wine was poured before we arrived so rather warm! I am waiting for restaurant manager to respond to me but after ten days I'm still waiting.
A great opera house, set in attractive surroundings. Festival is expensive but fun. Productions vary from the familiar and popular repertoire - Mozart and the usual Italian stuff to the more modern and avant-garde, which is always disappointing for the posers and corporate hospitality brigade, hopin...
There are many places to see opera but only one Glyndebourne. If you like opera, then it's something you should experience at least once in your life - if you can get tickets.
Always a pleasure to visit. Recently saw Saul - we were absolutely blown away by the splendour of the production. This is opera staged to the highest degree. The sun was shining as we set out our picnic on the immaculately kept lawns, and stayed shining throughout. It was a night to remember.
One of the finest opera houses in the world with some of the finest singers. All set in the grounds of a stately home with beautiful grounds. What could be better.
Went here to interview Danielle de Niese, and it was a spectacular visit. The whole staff and Dani were extremely accommodating. Within minutes of parking we were drinking tea and eating fish and chips.
A stunning property, a sight to behold. I will have to go back for a performance, as I underst...
It is the opera in the middle of the field, wonderful and unique in the world. Very traditional English and with very well-kept gardens where in the summer when you are going to enjoy a good opera and it is common for them to be very good, in a long interval you will have dinner at outdoors having a...
Absolutely superb. Everyone was so nice. The grounds were beautiful and well spread out. Highly recommended even if you only go once in your life. An amazing experience.
Opera where the company works on a production together, rather than being thrown together at the last minute; where visual and vocal beauty unite with humour; where productions are the sum of efforts by numbers of people rather than the vehicle for a directors ego; where voices are often fresh and ...
The opera House and many productions are one of life's treats. Not Peleas and Melissande. Which is so dire that, along with many others, we did not return after the long interval.
