Been attending their plays for years, from theater originals such as Christmastown to productions such as the Die Hard Christmas Comedy. Highly recommend stopping in for any of their shows. (I've been to many others, but these two were my favorites.
The Seattle Public Theatre's presentation of Caught was fantastic. The team worked together wonderfully and used the space in a very interesting way to keep the boundaries of the scenes blurry.
A Very Die Hard Christmas was an hilarious, no-tech, creative adaptation of Die Hard that makes much fun at the movie and of 1988 in general (coincidentally my high school class). Theater is a small community theater on the shores of Green Lake. Seats were comfy although space a bit cramped. The the...
Cute and cuddly with just enough room for the actors and the crowd. We watched Diehard and it was hilarious! We will go back again. People were friendly! Eat before you arrive and show up early if you want a drink. The line is amazingly slow.
Everything you've heard about The Seattle Public Theater is true. The floors are sticky, the projection is shaky, the seats are creaky, and you can't go to a crowded show without some Warriors bench player sitting in front of you blocking your view. But despite all this, it also happens to be withou...
"Indy Jones," from the same crew that did " Very Die Hard Christmas." Clever staging, zany word play, good sight gags, and lots and lots and lots of laughs.
Great little theater space. Smallish stage with comfortable wrap-around seating. Adequate facilities in a great location with parking. Older building but kept well. Lobby is very small so suggest buying tickets online and getting there early for best seats and a position out of the rain if ther...
We went to Seattle Public Theater and attended the Water Lantern Festival. Ratings are because we had fun. It s pretty much open for public. Except if you want to join the launch of the lanterns buy it online it s cheaper if you get it early. First, Parking... it s street parking they closed the pub...
Very small venue which makes it a great space to see a play. In the front row I almost felt like part of the play at times. Plenty of parking later in the evening. Also several spots for food & drink nearby. As an added bonus a walk around Green Lake is a nice way to prepare for viewing a performanc...
Imaginative, clever, funny, and delightful...take your favorite person so you can curl you toes with pleasure whilst rehashing your favorite scenes on the way home. Plus there is opera, epic fight scenes, and fabulous hair.
Wonderful, small local theatre. Always has great, professional theatre and lovely atmosphere and even more so for the staff. Hoping they stay thriving as they welcome in a new director!
This theater is my life. It is an amazing place to work and play. The plays, both mainstage and youth are fabulous, and the overall environment is very welcoming and friendly.
We attended "The Liar" on 02/17 and were so impressed! The actors were outstanding and the story was very entertaining. The volunteers were friendly and helfpful and the venue was great - not a bad seat in the house. No problem parking either. Only recommendation would be to cut the heat a little - ...
We've been going to productions at the Bathouse for over 30 years, through various theatre companies. The productions are always great, even in this modest, quirky building.
Seattle Public Theater , What a sweet place . In front of this building is where the Water Lantern Festival is held on Green Lake every year . This is so way cool I love this place , it's a awesome place to visit with your family and friends any time of the year . There lots of stuff to see and do ...
A Very Die Hard Christmas was absolutely incredible. I loved the intimacy of the space and friendliness of the staff. This was my first time, in from out of town, and I can't wait to see another performance here. Bravo!
I saw The Best Christmas Pageant here with my family and it was an amazing Christmas experience. Great cast with talent. They were able to put on a great play with minimal props that made it feel very "real".
Just an Awesome Setting for a Show. With Obviously a great area to relax or walk,.. Before, After or Anytime. It is Greenlake after all. And can't remember Anyone that Didn't Enjoy their evenings. Which brings to mind if they have events during the day. We've never been to one. Now I have to look ...
Unable to get a box office representative for assistance. Left messages all week at both numbers provided. Called during limited box office hours no answer. Emailed box office contacts. Can't give them my money. I just wanted some customer service
Saturday night's rapscallion romp was marvelous to behold. This young cast was amazingly mature. Shana Bestok, in her "Director's Notes," creates a beautiful, authentic path by which to enter the play and the spirit of the actors. Bravo!
Coolest theater in town! Free parking. Intimate space. "Christmastown Noir" is a wonderful, funny, poignant way to enjoy the holidays! Will be running w/ "A very Die Hard Christmas", which should be very, very funny.
An old bathhouse facade hides an excellent 3/4 thrust theater that is well maintained. They tend to produce straight theater (as opposed to musicals), with a focus on telling stories about underrepresented groups. Production quality is excellent.
We've seen a couple holiday plays here, and it's a really great little spot. The actors are excellent, and the venue is cozy and naturally pulls you into the goings on on stage. Definitely would return for more shows.
