Sort of hit or miss. Some times I get this great product that light easily and provides a great bed of coals, other times you have five couples sitting in the back yard as you try to take the last 1/3 of the bag of charcoal only to find it is basically very fine charcoal dust that just won t light....
I bought a large bag of the lump charcoal but can only use half the bag, I prefer larger pieces in my smoker. Half the bag was tiny junk barely big as a quarter. No wonder it's cheaper than other brands.

Hi Royal Oak Enterprises,
I am a customer of your products, I have a complained about your coal, I buy 100 libras for week to use at my BBQ bussines and all the times that I open a bag, have big stones, big irons . This is not fair. I buy coal and not big stones and big pieces iron.
I have been a long time customer of Royal Oak charcoal. No more. For the past year or more the product has deteriorated to a point where it s just crumbles. The largest pieces are usually the rocks that don t belong there anyway. The crumbs don t want to light. I have owned two green eggs, two ot...
Diamond Strike-A-Fire fire starters used to be the best thing on the planet. I have a wood burning fireplace and use one fire starter every day to start my fire. No kindling needed. Just my "magic fire stick" that I affectionately named them. I've used them for years! Something must've been done...
Diamond Matches are dangerous. Since Royal Oaks buyout in 2017, the quality has gone way down. The matchsticks break when struck causing a fire hazard. I have a scar on my lip from when a lit match head flew off and hit me in the face. Similar breaks have burned my carpet, started fires in my heatin...
Word of Caution! I bought a box of 300 Diamond Greenlight Large Kitchen Matches and I am chocked as to how fast the flame burns to the middle of the match stick, even before I can light a two-wick candle. I've used Diamond products before and was very satisfied, but I'm very leery to use this produ...
This is by far better than briquettes. Better smoke flavor, cooks hotter and last a long time. When your done simply close all the vents to extinguish the fire and reuse the charcoal again.
