Excellent gallery with interesting art that rotates often. The people are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Awesome events, classes and talks for artists and aspiring artists. A fun place with sense of community. Wonderful! Thank you all for what you do. Jefferson, who coordinates the events does ...
Our almost first-grader attended the creativity club after school program for about half the school year and just finished two summer arts adventure camp sessions. It's been an awesome experience - excellent programming, instructors, and facilities. I love that DAC is part of our community and our s...
The aging and unkept facilities I could deal with but at least create good classes with good teachers. I took a beginner painting class which was as different from the description as I could imagine. It was basically 3 hours of painting on your own with no instruction. Nor did the teacher seem capab...
This is an awesome place must take for your kids a lot of the artwork is created by children and they have a lots of educational programs and classes for them
Informal setting and I always have a good time. Seating is a bit uncomfortable but the ticket prices are low and there is a lot of aspiring talent packed in there.
Lots of fun events happening all of the time! It's a lite tucked away but there is more parking in the back. This is an especially great outing for families with smaller kids who get overwhelmed in large spaces.
Austin is fortunate to have such a great setting for a wide range of arts activities. Stop in if you're ever passing by. The art exhibit in the lobby is always interesting.
Such a treasure! My friends grew up practicing for the Zilker Musical here. The creative club after school program is wonderful! I always see the kids in the park and they get their art displayed in the gallery at the end of the year. The cover many different disciplines, including digital anima...
This review is for the summer camp program. The teachers and classes themselves are great but the registration process is terrible and the administrators have an air of self-important bureaucrats. My older son has attended every summer for a few years but after dealing with said administration regar...
A great community resource for the arts! I really appreciate the free workshops they offer for artists on the business side of being a professional artist. I often check out the Dougherty Arts Center on Facebook for the latest news and upcoming events, they're always up to date and I like the freque...
I went to an open mike. There was a poet accompanied by a guitar. A man with 40 different harmonicas playing harmonica in a way I'd never seen. There was a lady who sang a Hebrew song first in Hebrew and then translated to English and then she showed her book about her life as a sweet pea. A guitari...
Very talented and knowledgeable teachers. They offer a variety of classes from ceramics, drawing, painting, to digital arts. Classes are affordable and Austin resident pricing is much appreciated!
Attended the Refigured: Radical Realism opening at the Julia C. Butridge Gallery. We got there early enough to avoid the crowd. Beautiful space. Free to public.
This is a great place to send your kids over the summer or for after school care during the year! The curriculum is ALL ART! Nothing could be better for your kids in a place where funding for the arts is disappearing.
The staff and class offerings here are amazing. Parking passes available for students and countless different opportunities. I feel blessed to have this arts center in our community and so close by. Unfortunately, I ve only taken one course to date but hope to do more with more availability.
If you decide to enroll for a (adult) class, make sure you get a confirmation and that your credit card is charged. Do not go in person to register it might be a waste of your time You've been warned....
Essential venue for the artistic community of austin, hosting great performances and helping to support and sustain the artists they host. Frequently offers free rehearsal space for a variety of local theatre companies and the like, especially those that work with children. A great education force a...
The DAC was once a neat venue that unfortunately is hurting the arts due to numerous restrictions added to the use of the theater. The restrictions effect groups that have previously used the theater as a performance venue. This will ultimately result in less quality performances for the community...
The Dougherty is our jewel for solid shows, wonderful classes, and inspiring performances. It is a solid embodiment of the arts culture that enlivens our town. Go every chance you get!
The displays are always engaging and it's intimate so you really feel you're getting to know the artists... Plus they do wonderful community arts education, offering programs for just about everyone. They offer an artists space for learning and deepening your artistic passions. Definitely swing thro...
Its an art school that values their students. I was there for an art exhibit event and everyone loved the exhibit and also traveled through the school admiring the student art. I recomend for all ages.
How do I even talk about the place where our family and so many other families can celebrate art. Sometimes it s our kids art. Sometimes it s other fascinating shows . I particularly enjoyed the tall colorful crazy art structure that was out in front a few years ago. I want it or something like it b...
I've performed here, am directing The Vagina Monologues 2017 here to raise money for Safe Place during V-Day and have always had a fantastic experience!
