Xotic PC sold me a laptop that was a 'Preorder' wi...

Xotic PC sold me a laptop that was a 'Preorder' without telling me it was a 'Preorder.' I paid for rush build and services and rush shipping. It took me 6 weeks to receive my laptop... at which point I was going to be at a different address than the original shipping address. I called Customer Service and attempted to have the shipping address changed and they refused. Then, when it arrived, not all of the products I had ordered were in the box. I had to call Customer Service again and tell them that the packing list was incomplete. The only plus side of my experience is that the laptop is amazing (ASUS GL702VS-DS74). 10/10 would not shop with this company again.

Xotic PC also asked me to write a review for them on their website. I did. I went back to check on said review (which was very similar to this review I have written above) and they had completely edited it, leaving only the positive comments that I wrote and removing anything negative I said other than the keyboard of the particular model I ordered was lower quality.

My original review gave them two stars. Since they decided to take my honest review and make it their own, I have downgraded them to 1 star for absolutely horrible customer service and manipulating my review to make them look better.

UPDATE (04/19/2017):

After posting the above review, Xotic PC Customer Loyalty Department reached out to me to make amends for the experience that I had shopping with them. Without getting into the specifics, they actively sought to resolve the issues that I had with my initial experience and take steps to make sure that my experience is not repeated for future purchasers. I am now far more satisfied with the end result of my interactions with Xotic PC. I am upgrading my review from 1 star to 3 stars. If all had went smoothly from the beginning of my purchase process I would be giving them 5 stars.

UPDATE (04/25/2018):

I have again amended my review of my Xotic PC back down to one star. It has been approximately 13 months since I received my laptop (which I paid $2400 for) and it has failed. I paid Xotic PC for additional copper heat sinks to be applied to my laptop. As you can see in the photo, they have come loose and were falling around freely inside of my my laptop case. The adhesive that was used was not strong enough to hold the weight of the additional heatsinks. I have elected just to remove the heatsinks and clean off the adhesive and my laptop still works fine. It's a MIRACLE that the loose copper in my laptop didn't complete a circuit on the motherboard and ignite the whole thing into flames.

I will never shop with Xotic PC again and unless you have a burning desire for low quality craftsmanship, repeated inconvenience, and poor customer service you shouldn't either.

The customer support at xotic pc is outstanding from pre-order to after I got the laptop in my hands. They helped me out with choosing the right pc for me in my budget and through the build they answered all my questions quickly. Even after the purchase they still answered and responded to all my questions.

SSECOND UPDATE: The company did fix *most* the issues regarding my laptop and we did find out the other issues I were having was just me needing a new battery, but they put the wrong key cap on one of the keys on the keyboard that needed a new one and I still can not get anyone to resolve this issue for me. I do not understand how this sort of thing happens. I do not have time to keep following up with the tech support people about this issue.

I then stupidly decided to purchase a new computer from Xotic PC figuring since the previous issues were regarding things with MSI I would buy a SAGER computer instead, but no. I have had issues with this now new computer since it arrived in the mail. The screen had a large fuzzy bar down it, and I had to pay shipping to have it send in for an RMA. It was finally returned, and I am STILL HAVING ISSUES. Now there is red smudges, and pixels that show up when dark images are displayed on the screen, as well as thin white bars that show up at random times. I could not be more annoyed with everything I have gone, though. I wish I could just get a refund on this new SAGER computer and never buy another computer from Xotic PC again

UPDATE: I was reached out to about this issue by the loyalty manager for Xotic PC named Matthew. He was very helpful and is going to take it upon himself to get these issues resolved in a timely manner. I also found out that this error was a direct error from MSI because it was fixed within the first two years of warranty. Things are still being resolved the computer has been returned to me with a majority of the issues fixed. Had the worse two experiences dealing with damage to a laptop I bought in 2013. When buying the laptop I bought the extra warranty and was told I would have one year of accidental coverage, I also paid to remove the bloatware and downgrade to Windows 7 professional.

Little did I know buried in the fine print if I payed for the removal and downgrade listed above I would not be given any information on how to register the computer and if I did not register it with MSI within 30 days after the shipment date I would not get the one year of accidental coverage that was included with the PC. The item took a very long time to ship to me and I did not realize these conditions to obtain the protection until a few weeks after getting the laptop and then it was too late.

The protection was not honored when an accident did happen to the computers just a few weeks after I received it. Since it was a few weeks past the 30 day mark I had to pay 270.00 plus shipping to get the laptop repaired. After the computer was returned to me which took over a month it came back to me with a mistake made during the repairs. The wrong laptop faceplate is over a computer port it should not be over. (Esata plastic piece over a mini display port on motherboard) I desperately needed the computer for my Network Engineering degree at college and could not afford to be without a computer for another month.

Since my computer is still in warranty (Until Sept 2016) and I now have a backup computer to use I decided to try and have XOTIC PC fix this mistake during the 2013 RMA. They accused me of causing physical damage to the computer and have no records of my 2013 RMA request. They want to charge me again for more repairs that I did not cause.

I am currently still dealing with someone about this issue but insist that it is not XOTIC PCs fault and they will not fix it

Have purchased twice and have always been pleased with the personalized customer service. Amy emails or phone calls were always very professional and timely. Work is first-rate and great quality. I always recommend Xotic to anyone looking for a better machine for your money.

Purchased a MSI Dominator Pro 2PC from these guys and I've regretted it ever since.

Purchase price $3,656.01

Advised by Xotic PC during 5th repair to remove operating system from raid setup and install on one drive. To avoid changing current configuration I purchased an additional 2.5" ssd for $305.00.

Total cost $3,961.01

1. 3 returns for a bad ssd Xotic PC installed. I had to call MSI twice to tell these guys to replace the drive.

2. Malfunctioning keyboard and bluetooth

3 GPU failure, needed to be replaced

4. PC will power on but not boot. It stays on a black screen.

The first failure occurred on day 1 of receiving the laptop. All other failures were within 2 months of receiving after repair.

If you are/were fortunate enough to purchase a product from Xotic PC and not have an issue with it lucky you, but from my experience If you do have a problem they will never fix it. MSI has fixed every problem that I've had. If it were not for MSI diagnosing my initial ssd problem which Xotic PC installed. They would have never replaced the bad drive, keep in mind they sent it back to me with the faulty drive after MSI told them it was bad. They also sent it to me twice before that saying that it passed their stress test and they didn't find any issues. It took 3 returns to fix the first issue.

Xotic PC has admitted that the number of repairs were excessive and asked MSI to replace the unit. MSI refused since it was out of their warranty. Xotic PC will not refund or replace anything outside of their return policy regardless of the issue. Basically they want MSI to take the hit for the unit.

I honestly think that MSI had issues with this model, but it's not their job to replace it since I didn't buy it from them. I bought it from Xotic PC.

They keep trying to tell me that they're doing me a favor by repairing a 3 year old machine that I've had problems out of since literally day one. I don't see their logic in asking someone to keep a machine that fails within 2 months of use. I assure you it does not matter if you are 1 day outside of the return policy they won't take it back or replace it for any reason past that. I've given them many opportunities to repair the laptop, yet they still refuse to replace it. They honestly don't care about what kind of experience I've had with this laptop I'm stuck with past their return policy.

So before you decide to purchase from this company. Ask yourself if you want to go through the same issue that I am with this company. My problem is not with the laptop, it's with the way Xotic PC is handling things.

I recently decided to buy a laptop computer, and so I asked the guys at Xotic PC to help me out. In the end, I was very satisfied. I asked them for the best computer available for my needs and budget, and they helped me out. They answer many questions I had, and cleared all my doubts. They have an excellent support team, and a wide range of products to purchase from. I would totally recommend anyone who is going to buy a pc, to clarify with Xotic PC, and they do a lot of configurations for you. And most importantly, they were very confident to assure their products and their support.

I have bought three laptops on different occasions. You can customize everything that can in a laptop with no problems. E-mail support is also really good, with fast answers and helpful solutions. One small detail to consider if you are an international client and you need to send a unit for a warranty repair is that you have to pay for the shipping, both ways, and when they ship it back is in a quite big box (50 x 50-ish m) so the shipping cost can get quite high.

They have answered all my questions so far about my laptop I ordered and the morning of the next day I made my order they let me know that the graphic wrap I sent to them to use would not be the best image to use and suggested submitting a new one or to just use one from their library which is great because now I don't have to worry about a distorted image being used. Had a great experience buying a Sager laptop back in 2012. Machine still performs well today. Had a few hiccups with shipping address changes that were quickly solved. I had to have my original order May and August refunded because it was pushed back another two months. The second order was shipped out extremely fast but when it arrived it had somebody else s login. It also had a paper inside with a different customer s name and not the same as the login name, that the laptop was not working to begin with. The new pascal GPU's just came out recently and I asked if I was able to adjust my order and when I spoke to Tanner he said my order was automatically upgraded to the new pascal model [Awesome! 5 stars]. It's hard to find a spare-no-expense, no-compromises windows machine these days. Unfortunately, most PC manufacturers have been in a race to the bottom for the last 15 years, and the quality of the typical PC has suffered as a consequence. XoticPC's machines offer Apple-level hardware and build quality, and are light years beyond the major PC manufacturers' laptops. Their machines aren't cheap - if you want cheap, go with Dell or HP. Just remember - you get what you pay for.

This rating is for Xotic PCs customer service and follow up communication. The Sager laptop I ordered looks fantastic and I love the graphic added to the lid cover.

The ordering page is a bit cluttered which made it easy to miss selecting or upgrading options. When attempting to call Xotic to correct the order, I was on hold for 11 minutes then transferred to leave voicemail on the customer service extension. To be fair, I did receive a follow up call (2or 3days later) after not leaving a vm message as the phone system tracked and recognized my phone number.

Also, the online chat help yielded an email response to only 1 of 3 messages, which was the least detailed request I sent so the reply was to call them for further assistance.

The Cust Service Rep assigned to help resolve my correction request was unable to return my call during my schedule availability so I called the main customer service extension. The fella who answered was helpful. I did specifically ask if I had to wait for the CS Rep or could he make the adjustment to the order as she was not able to take my call at that time.

All in all, I really like my laptop. Maybe Xotic was overwhelmed with orders from Black Friday weekend. If they would like to be known for consistent, prompt customer service, I was not fortunate in experiencing it when reaching out to them to add an OS to my order.

Had problems to start, must have been a corrupt hard drive, the owners of the company are very dedicated to making sure you're taking care of. The owner(at least I think the owner ) himself helped out a lot with getting me a replacement notebook. I'm overall abit upset with the tech support, and customer service. I'm on the way to sending in my original notebook for a new one the process with the owner is very quick and he's actually waiting on me to finish up. Overall I feel the company is safe to work with and has a good return policy if you're not happy. I just feel the owner could afford to re-evaluate some of the staff, both tech support and customer service. Along with improving the stress testing.

I suppose i wouldnt be so suspicious if i have not read so many reports of people buying new laptops from Xotic PC and actually receiving used/damaged/faulty components in their device. I suppose i would not be so disappointed

The first laptop I ordered turned out to be unavailable by the time I paid for it, so I bought another; a SAGER NP8152-S. It had some issues with the HDMI port and the RGB system in the keyboard. Xotic CS helped a great deal, although they couldn't solve the issue, and I had to return the pc to be repaired, which took rather longer than I would have liked (about 2 weeks total time), but everything works perfectly now. This laptop is awesome; it will handle pretty much anything I throw at it. Doom 2016 on ultra settings, for example, runs smooth as silk. Also, not that this affects performance, but I liked the fact that I could opt to have no insignia on the laptop shell. Mine just looks like an ordinary black laptop, but it runs like a beast. Overall a good experience, even if I did have to wait a while for repairs.

Xotic has been nothing short of phenomenal with every order. I was introduced to them a few years back when looking for a gaming laptop. Between a website that was easy to navigate due to the sorting in the menus, huge selection, competitive prices, and options I was hooked. I've ordered two Sager laptops for myself and helped a few friends order through them as well. For as long as these folks can keep up this awesome business model I will continue to promote and purchase. No one does it better than Xotic.

Decided to order a Sager from Xotic PC after quite a few weeks of research. Couldn't be happier that I did. Not only is the laptop amazing, but what really put Xotic over the top was their customer service. Answered all my questions and made sure all my needs were taken care of.

I wish I had done better research before buying an upgraded laptop from XOTIC PC. Don't just look at the bottom 5 reviews, read on and do more research before spending money with this company. I don't think I've even been this upset with buying anything.

First, I was ok with the 1 month shipping time since I was buying a high end custom laptop. They claim the product goes through all kinds of testing and packaging stages. VERY PROFESSIONAL sounding on their site but wait.

My problems:
- wrong OS installed
- optical drive missing
- screen flickering issue
- free game missing (didn t care about the game but come on)

So I contacted customer service and the emails back and forth started. I was dealing with either someone who just doesn t care or a 16 year old pothead. Nothing got done the first month. They were slow and useless. I finally got upset and started pressing the negative feedback button on their emails and magically their response sped up. Eventually I got fed up and called ASUS directly, they fixed my screen issue within minutes over the phone. As for the other 3 issues, XOTIC PC took 4 months (I m not exaggerating) to complete.

While a few complications arose at the beginning, everything was handled in a fair and swift manner. My experiences with the Staff members, specifically Pat J, Alex P, and Susan S, were at the very least superb.

When I had an issue, all three of them were quick to not only respond to me, but to resolve the problem in its entirety. If all other employees at Xotic PC are like them, then my god you've got one hell of a dream team working there. Pat, Susan, and Alex, worked as hard as they possibly could to make my experience more phenomenal than words could even really describe. And that was just the customer service aspect!

As for delivery, it was done in a timely and very quick manner with the computer being packaged with the utmost care and responsibility. They made sure my new beast of a machine (the MSI Titan GT80 GTX 965 model) was put together properly, and that it ran like the monster that it is. Again, absolutely perfectly. I truly feel that my money was not only well spent, but it was entrusted to the right and best team for the job.

If I ever need a part, new computer, or whatever, I know exactly where my business will be taken. To XoticPC. One of the best companies I, as a customer, have ever had the pleasure of working with. Thank you guys, seriously, for giving me one of the most pleasant experiences I could've dreamed of.

Xotic PC was wonderful. They were fast with processing the order, and the computer was delivered within weeks. It was also extremely easy to pick out the computer I wanted and customize it to exactly what I needed.
Knowing the tested everything ahead of time, I have not had a single issue with PC at all.
I highly recommend going through Xotic if you are looking for a high end, high quality PC.

My biggest problem with Xotic PC is that I can't put more than a 5 star review. They are excellent with customer service.

I'm a motion graphic animator/director, and I was in the market for a new PC laptop to handle my work load and gaming. Before I knew about Xotic, I was going to get a Dell- Alienware product, but because I had a particular ordering request that needs to involve a live person's assistance, I had to contact Dell directly. After waiting for 2 weeks of not getting any response from Dell, I decided to look elsewhere (even until now, which is 4 weeks later, I still haven't heard anything from Dell). A co-worker of mine, recommended Xotic and gave me a really good review of them, so I decided to check their site. For sure, they had what I wanted and more. This is where and how I became an Xotic customer for life.

Even though my chat was disconnected from my first chat due to a technical errors, 5 minutes later I was reconnected to second representative, Joseph; who was nothing short of amazing and professional. We were on live chat for a good 30 minutes, and not only was he able to meet my complicated order request, but he and his team at Xotic, was able to meet and beat competitor's prices by coming up with an extraordinary solution to get it accomplished. It's practically unheard of for me to see a company with this kind of dedication, professionalism and the willingness to go that extra mile to naturally steal my business, but make me feel like I couldn't have ordered my laptop anywhere else. As a customer, I feel special, treated with the utmost respect and courtesy- I just could not ask for more. Dell did not just lose me as a customer that day, but they have lost every single person that takes interest in my laptop, and so far within this first week of me having my laptop, 5/6 people have heard of Xotic PC for the first time from me, all 6 are excited to do business with them in the near future.

So thanks again to Joseph and Xotic PC for getting me my first high-end gaming laptop and with the best buying experience a person could ask for. You guys are amazing, keep up the great work and look forward to a lot more business coming your way from me!

PS - I usually only leave a review out of anger and distaste, it's quite rare that I leave a good review with more than a few words. This is the first time I feel as if they deserve a great review from me. Kudos guys, just amazing.

After spending $2300 and waiting 4 weeks, I received my new laptop with more blue screen errors than I could count. Customer service originally tried to have me send it directly to Gigabyte for a repair, but after talking to Matthew N from customer service I was able to get most of my money back 4 weeks later. I would like to give HIM a 5 star review but it is the store s return policy regarding a dead on arrival computer that I am giving 2 stars. XOTIC PC charged me $63 for all shipping and the IC diamond application for the broken laptop. This makes absolutely no sense, why should a customer be responsible for any costs associated with receiving a broken laptop? With the dangers of shipping a delicate machine, why would a customer risk buying from a company with a policy such as this? After contacting Google Trusted Stores, I was able to get my $63 back 2 weeks later. So after ~10 weeks of inconvenience, numerous emails and phone calls, I got my refund. However, they did charge me $49 for a free promotional item that I didn t know they wanted back until 7 weeks into this mess, so I am still out $49.
In summary, one should not trust a store that tries to make a profit from sending broken goods. My suggestion to XOTIC PC would be to rework your policy so that customers are not out any money after receiving a dead on arrival computer. I am assuming the five star reviews for this company do not involve a dead on arrival computer. Don t risk it; just go to a store with a better policy that deals with this unfortunate situation

My first laptop from them had some electrical issues; but XoticPC offerred to pay for the mailing & fix for free. Ever since it has had no problems. I got an amazing ASUS G53-SW from them with the back of the laptop skinned w/ a view of Mars. Easily the best computer I've had the oppurtunity to purchase.

Alas it is now time to upgrade to a Desktop w/SSD and all the other goodies. Will definitely go through XoticPC again. Good customer service & good product.

I am having the exact same issue that is described by every single person that has given a bad review. They first had a ridiculous process to clear my credit card and my bank informed me that it was all them and not my bank. Now the parts are suddenly not in stock. and on and on and on. blah blah blah.. it is the same story as every review I just read in these reviews. I would not order from this company.
