Staff are very nice and even when they are busy which is often they are very attentive food is good, Breakfast during the week is very organized and staff very helpful

Good food with great friendly service at a very reasonable cost - what more do you want.

Good for kids however the food quality is far to inconsistent. Can have the same meal twice and first time could be nice but second absolutely terrible. For eg my partner was served mouldy bread on her fish goujon sandwich and my chicken in my cluck and ale burger was cooked on chargrill THEN battered and fried. Was like chewing rubber!!! Was the same for other customers around us.

Food was so bad carvery so disappointing and tomato soup was disgusting

Nicely fitted out with a great kids soft play section. Food and service are ordinary.

We were told we could only be seated in busy section for families.whilst only two people say in quiet area where we wanted.We were told if we wanted this area we would wait for 30 mins to be served.We just left.waitress seemed not too dissapointed.

Disappointing. First impression was poor because I had to wait 10 minutes before I saw a member of staff. They all seemed to be in the kitchen joking around judging by the noise. After taking a seat, I looked through the menu witb my partner then went to order. This incurred another 5 minute wait because they were all in the kitchen again. The food was nice and priced accordingly however, the chips were overdone. I brought it to their attention and fresh chips were given. Overall a disappointing experience but if I can give one criticism, a staff memeber should always be present at front of house. This is standard so customers can order straight away rather than wait.

Just been in for two adults meals and a kids meal . Between the three meals FIVE items were missing. Eg. Kids tomato pasta + meatballs...No meatballs ffs

We had a group of 5. We tried the Fish and Chips Buffet. Which the chips were stone cold and solid I did bring this up too the manager. Then the Manager said they will freshen it all up. Then the manager said to one of her colleagues when was the food probed. No answer from the colleague. I asked every hour. My goodness it's fish!! Health and safety at it's BEST. Shocking.

Breakfast was good but carvery was a waste if money for 5 people

The meal was great. If going on a Sunday the parking's free, don't know if a Saturday is too, but through the week parking charges apply. Take parking ticket to the bar and the money paid is refunded. Would definitely recommend here

Did not enjoy our most recent visit. We were sat in the conservatory. I asked if that was the children's area and was told no but because of the open layout we were surrounded by screaming kids. Ordered the hand battered haddock expecting freshly made haddock but it was frozen processed haddock - the giveaway was the skin was still on. The batter was soggy, the chips and mushy peas lukewarm. Worse when the server asked if everything was ok and I told him no he walked away not interested. Don't see me going back and certainly won't reccomend

Decent prices. Parking is reimbursed when you buy a drink as well.

Good, well priced food. Only negative was that the service seemed to be a bit disorganised - the waitresses didn't seem to know what food was going to what table.

Poor menu don't do buffet nights anymore which was the only good thing about it.

Poor service and quality of food
We ordered food and 4 pints of coke with unlimited refills was handed 4 kids plastic beakers and pointed in the direction of the drinks despensor machine after I explained to the staff that we didn't order or pay for kids drinks it was pints with refills she replied that we didn't have any clean glasses just now she will get us some from main bar then food arrived which had to be sent back as mac n cheese burger had 4 pieces of Macaroni on it had to ask for cutlery and he had taken what was left in the small bucket from another table which people were still eating at but we were still 2 sets short had asked staff when the burger came back and we waited and waited no cutlery was brought to us so I had to ask people eating at another table if we can have their spare cutlery so I don't think
we will return here for a meal again

Edit** been waiting 45 minutes for a kids dessert, fish tasted like wet plasterboard and the beans were dry and stale like they had been microwaved 43 times

Food was good and our starters arrived prompt!! I asked a member of staff for a kids menu and was given a load of attitude "its down there in that box" then she disappeared. When our drinks arrived they forgot the kids drink, I went to the bar to ask for it and I said "the girl probably just forgot" and not to worry about it! The older woman behind the bar asked "are you SURE you didn't get it with your drinks?" When I said "yeah I'm sure", she turned to the fridge and said "right, fine then, what one do you want" Then slammed it on the bar!!! The majority of the staff are just going about their jobs but the ones that stick out are full of attitude!!

This is my local and i go here often purely because it's close and has a soft play if weather's not great. The staff are great, very helpful. The food is run of the mill, sometimes even inedible but they change their menus often. It's expensive for what you get, frozen chips, powdered potatoes and microwave heated food etc.....if your just going to meet friends for coffee though it's fine.

Service was poor, lass was hanging over the sign at the entrance saying yeah just go get a seat, asked for a high chair and was told by same girl aye you will get one there, actually had to go find it myself, starters plates had not been removed from table when main meal was brought out, when we had finished our main meal we sat for a bit whilst the little one had icecream, at least 4 servers had passed our table and looked at it, but not one person took the dirty plates away, table next to us left 30 mins before us and all theres was still on the table too. These were all still on the table when we left. There was approx 7 other people in at this time, not as if it was even busy.

Quick service although I wasn't impressed by the car park charging in operation Mon-Fri which also charges blue badge for parking I think that this is awful and I will not be going back

Enjoyed a very pleasant evening and the food was excellent. The waitress Claire was very attentive and helpful.

Entertainment was 4 stars, women arguing over children just what you want with your Friday nights dinner.

Food always meets a similar standard. Staff always nice.
Ball pool/kids play area makes this even more worthwhile.

Service is great, kids play area is good but the food is of a better standard at other local chains (vintage inns, farmhouse inns etc)

It's not the Buchanan Gate's fault, it's the brewer's fayre menu that's the issue.

Has a separate child section with soft play and you can refill your drinks for free

New years day dinner. Was relaxed food service and good food.

Sorry guys charged 2 pounds 69 pence for a SMALL glass of coke for a 8 year old is out of order.

Management team at brewers fayre Stepps said not our decision headquarters make the policies.

Food was rubbish batter on fish was soggy the chips were soft and cold peas were cold . The wifes colslaw was warm the chicke n tasted of fish and her chips were soggy. The staff were good

Booked in and then told we had to leave our table after 90mins as the table was booked for another party, ordered a starter then told they didn't have it ordered steak pie then again told they didn't have any left so ordered steak that didn't come with any chips overall very disappointed

Took 30 mins for food to come after ordered! Food I ordered didnt have all what it said on the menu, the after eight sunday was a disappointment! Nothing like the picture! Kids pasta was over priced and extremely small portion! Will not he back!
