A smaller Theatre at downtown Vancouver. This is the QE playhouse. Right next to it, is the bigger Queen Elizabeth theater. A bigger auditorium. This QE playhouse seats only about 668 audiences seats. Conveniently located about 5 minutes walk, from "Stadium" sky train station. They have a snack stand, that sells cold call drinks, and chips. A well kept tidy theater

One of Vancouver s small theatres this is a good place to catch up and coming artists. As all civic theatres in the City, the Playhouse well maintained and clean. It s not quite as impressive as the Orpheum or QE though as it doesn t have the same level of architecture or artwork. The concessions are also quite limited. Nonetheless, it s a pretty place to catch a show.

The Playhouse is a lovely small venue to see live theatre, VIFF movie screenings or other events (PechaKucha). Sight lines are good, seats are reasonably comfortable and there is really not a bad seat in the house. Service is standard for Vancouver civic theatres, it s generally quite friendly but quite slow with limited drinks and snacks. It is starting to feel a bit dated, but still acceptable. Overall a decent venue, lacking a bit in glamour and acoustics.

I always love going to the theater. The olden days dressing up and dinner theater meant so much more. When I attend we dress up its so much fun. The Playhouse is beautiful and the foyer is classic and open and the staff are dressed in proper fashion I wish the public would follow suit.. The plays musicals are wonderful and the prices are reasonable. The paid parking $12 flat rate is ludicrous but if you look across from the underground paid parking the lot across is extremely reasonable $6 for 2 hours of parking take advantage of the lot save a bit. Otherwise the stage the seats the decorum is incredible take the time to look at the works and architectural design! Enjoy the past while living in the present.. The staff are polite and very helpful and will help you find your seats and wheelchair accessible . Coat check available take the time to give your coats to them after all you want to make an entrance with your outfit not your coat hanging and getting crushed in your seat.. This is after all the theater!!

Liked the Playhouse. Been awhile since I was last there. We saw a live performance of a podcast. My only comment would be the drink line. There were only two and the wait was pretty substantial. It would be nice if they could get that going a bit faster.

Always clean and orderly. Security is visible at all times, and staff are very polite and approachable. The seats are moderately comfortable, though a little tight moving through if you have to pass anyone to get to your seat, and the isles are tidy from any debris.

Went here for the burlesque festival, and had a great time! The theatre itself is comfortable looking, and the stage is medium sized. It's clean, not too fancy, but well kept. The sound is wonderful, so shout out to the techs, and the lighting was great to see. The staff were kind and helpful. Great experience, and i can't wait to go back next year, or perhaps even sooner!

Brought my girl friend here and we had a blast! The basketball dude was amazing. The only problem is that I still have the following stuck in my head: "One more ball. One more ball...repeat 10x" The comedian was funny and I watch comedy all the time. The couple who climbed a pole probably the sweetest couple performing I've seen from first row seats live. The folks at the entrance did a great job suggesting first row seats. The lady at the cloak room kept making comments about my lifestyle which I found mildly amusing. The ushers were beyond accommodating that night. The magician did a great job even though we were super close to him which would have made it hard to trick us. The whole show was done a few more times same day and day after so thanks for the whole performer who kept it fresh for us and themselves giving it all. Will be back soon

Have been here a couple times recently for different concerts. The staff were always very nice and drinks, while a little expensive, weren't outrageous and had some selection. It's also small enough where you don't feel too far away unless you're at the very back.

I find the chairs a bit uncomfortable, a bit tight, specially during winter when you wear more layers and sometimes need to take them out during a show. But the place usually holds good out-of-mainstream shows and movies, so it is not that you have the choice to see it anywhere else.
