I was stopped at the front door for wearing a very expensive tailor-fitted N95 filter mask and told they no longer allow patients to wear N95 masks!!! They said they had to ban all N95 masks because patients were taking the filters out yet you can see very visibly just by looking that the filter is still in the mask!!! I was given a flimsy oversized disposable mask that won't stay on at all!! Add to that, most of the staff touch their own masks literally every 3 seconds and half the staff wear their mask barely half on with their face with their noses totally exposed!!! If you REALLY need people to wear masks, then don't penalized the patients that actually come prepared with a decent working mask!!! On top of that, half the nurses and desk staff are just plain rude and unprofessional! The ER here is also the worst patient experience EVER but that's another review all together!
Excellent medical and support staff. All are caring and eager to ensure resolution of my 94-yr old father's various health concerns. Always a welcoming atmosphere. Highly organized. Best VA clinic choice made.
Good luck if you need radiology appointment! I ve been on hold for 2 hours yesterday and 2.5 hours today and still on hold as I type this. I ll likely be dead before they answer their phones!
This review is for Dr. Mark Strickland. He charged me $2198.00 for an ER visit. I never saw him, spoke to him, was examined by him or treated by him. Unethical, bloated billing practice.
I went to VA medical center for a covid test. They have a makeshift/tent testing area outside the emergency room. It looked like one of those military field hospital you see in vietnam movies. It was cold, dark, and really windy when I went there. So why the 5 stars? Because it works. The physician and the other frontliner were very helpful and they explained everything to me. As soon as I was done, they have the doctor's note ready for me.
This VA is great. The staff is amazing. When I m going through a rough time they are always there for me. Getting appointments isn t an issue and the hospital has been clean every time I have visited. The only problem I had was recent. They have people who I know are not directly employed by the VA standing at the front screening people with COVID questions. I got there for an appointment for my vaccine. They told me I couldn t come in because I had my daughter. Their supervisor REALLY REALLY REALLY gave me a card to the VA hospital I was at and told me to call the hospital I was at, the hospital THAT SHE WAS AT, the hospital she was currently working at, and told me to ask for an escort. I had a Is this really happening? moment.. Especially because I drove up there quite a ways using someone else s car to get my vaccine.. So my daughter and I stood outside the hospital with the cold wind blowing on us. I wouldn t care if it were just me because I trained, worked and slept outside many many many times while I was enlisted BUT! I had my daughter... The supervisor couldn t make a trip down the hall for me. Laziness on their part because there were three of the employees at the front. It was insane.. Their program manager needs to change a few things about the way they conduct business. The two women were unprofessional, and by the time the escorts came to help me the women didn t screen me, which is what she is there to do to begin with, until I said something. She said, Oh yeah .. They couldn t give me a reason why I needed an escort for my daughter and I. I was thinking, Is this a test? After passing through that circus everything was fine. The escorts were amazing and the nurses and all the staff in the hospital that I encountered that day were amazing. Just a heads up if you happen to run into the same experience I had, you re not alone.
The GI staff in 3 south, admin, doctors, and nurses are all exceptional! They are efficient, caring, and professional. Thank you for the wonderful service you provide!
