The trail lunches were generous, featuring local cheeses, meats, chocolate, and wine, while the dinners were consistently delicious. Arriving in Chamonix under the Olympic Flame was a memorable finale to an incredible hike. I strongly recommend adding the Chamonix package—it’s an outdoor paradise. Highlights include the Aiguille du Midi, Mont Blanc, and a relaxing day at the spa. It was a perfect trip that I would happily repeat.

Regarding the physical demands, Wildland provided solid training advice in their prep packet. Being from South Florida for the past two decades, I had no experience hiking at altitude, but I am used to the heat. I prepared by hiking with my boots and a weighted pack, which definitely helped. As a 47-year-old who runs three miles daily, practices yoga regularly, and weights, I felt physically ready. Michael even gave me tips on using trekking poles to maximize their benefit. Surprisingly, my fear of heights wasn’t an issue; the Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails are wide enough that I never felt like I’d fall off the edge. I’m already planning my next Rim-to-Rim adventure. Huge thanks to Michael and the whole Wildland Trekking team for creating memories I’ll cherish forever!
