This place is just amazing! Besides the endless displays of priceless art, the buildings and garden are works of art themselves and the views of L.A. and the surrounding hills are spectacular. Hard to believe all you have to pay is $15 parking.

Excellent collection of Sculptures and paintings. Getty is a must place to visit. This place is well organized. Paintings are so good and one thing to appreciate is the collection of paintings. We will never be disappointed with visit to Getty. Tram ride from entrance to building is very good. They are open till 9 PM on Saturdays.

The Getty Center is awesome.

The Getty Center is awesome.

First off, COST: Expect to pay $15 no matter what. This $15 goes for parking and is HIGHLY recommended that you park there instead of any of the other streets which are a million-and-a-half miles away! Obviously, the $15 goes toward parking and the tram ride up. The tram ride itself is approximately 5 maybe 7 minutes to the top and travels approximately 5-10 mph.

Though most of the art you will see is of European origin, it's still a marvel to look at. There is a lot of sculptures, paintings, furniture, and sketches for anyone to see.
This time around I especially enjoyed the Illuminated Manuscripts. All of them are of Christian origin. Not that I'm a religious person, but what I found especially fascinating was looking at one manuscript which depicts the story of Christ Jesus without ANY words, just illustrations! This is fascinating to me because most of society at that time was completely illiterate and served as a way to unite people and give them a common base for nationalism under a religious doctrine.

The Getty Center was one of the coolest places I have seen. I am amazed that it was free. Just pay the 15 dollar parking fee. We ate lunch at the Getty Cafe. 28 bucks for a burger and fries and a kid's meal. High prices for food but it was good.

The paintings and sculptures were amazing. It is wonderful to see that human's can create such heavenly things. It affirms my faith that we are all children of God.

Boushie AF. Come here if you want to feel like pretending to be sophisticated or like me and just feel like an uncultured dummy haha. Great views and amazing landscapes and structures for a museum. Very unique experience.

Getty museum is a must while in L.A. if you appreciate art and have the time for spend the whole day, you definitely have to go. Entrance is free, and several activities are held everyday at it. Interactive, and guided, and self guided tours within are at no extra charge.

This place is always a joy to go to. Needless to say the landscape is breathtaking. We always enjoy taking family here when they are in town. This last visit with family over the holidays I found that the Getty provides wheelchairs to those who need them and the grounds are handicap accessible, something I had never paid attention to prior.

Amazing architecture, great places to take photos which you will find all tourists love to do in the middle of everything. Quite busy and very large area, so best to walk from one side to the other rather than finding places on the map. Cute gift shop but pricey. Sit in on the videos/mini lectures, they are interesting and approx 10 minute sin length only.

Modern architecture in the setting up on a hill if LA, not to mention it's treasures, is beyond compliments of any description! Mr. Getty is above many billionaires in spending his wealth and leaving a legacy for millions of people for millions of years. Not many billionaires, especially those who squandered their wealth in "wine, women and songs" or in big giant resorts are as smart as he was.

To come to LA without visiting the Getty would be foolishness of elephantine proportions. This is one of the premier art museums of North America. Carefully curated cohesive collections focused on certain themes are the standout here, and there's well manicured grounds and architecture to match that. I saw many people here just to enjoy the gardens.

The views of LA are beautiful from its hilltop location, and the little tram that's used to move people was immensely charming. And it's all free due to the large sum of money they got from J. Paul Getty (think All the Money in the World).

Great museum which is free admission (minus $15 parking) which is a great deal considering it's in LA and you get a ton of value from looking at the various exhibits and architecture of the museum! It has stunning views and if you're not into art you can definitely appreciate the architecture/views. This is a great place to take friends or family if they're visiting LA because they get to see wonderful views and if it's nice out, enjoy the California weather the area is known for.

Great views, very slow peoplemover. They have a lot of guides tours but the one I took was very in depth and 1/3 of the tour left by the 3rd stop. I think they have tablets available to give information as well. Excellent views of the city. Be sure not to miss the outdoor garden.

Parking is $20

The museum closes at 5:30. There is a cool tram that takes you up to the museum from the parking structures. You get a great view of downtown LA!
Entrance is free to the museum. There is a help desk with maps in all different languages.
The garden area is a must see! So beautiful.
Wonderful collection of art from all over the world.

Really a must see place if you like art.

The Getty museum is amazing. If seeing and walking around seeing the art (in a Air Conditioned building may I add?) then the FREE ride up to the muesem is just amazing! So beatiful and don't worry about runing of food/water there is a nice grassy area for you 2 sit and buy food. Prices amazing. Drinks are cold. Other guests around us where wearing a head set and I was curios so I asked what is that? I found out that the Getty museum is VERY into making there museum attractions into a fun place for everybody. Hearing devices for Special needs. and special ''Iphones'' that you can scroll threw EVERY SINGLE attraction and pick the one you are infront of and watch a little recording of the history and ect...
Love it for all ages!

You can amass a fortune and build your own private isolation kingdom, or you can do what J. Paul Getty did, and leave the world a better place. Art is good for your soul, and this place is a veritable pharmacopeia of exquisite pieces. Constantly changing collections and luscious gardens. A must see for anyone.

Its definitely one of my happy places. Love taking the family there when the weather is nice. They always have umbrellas nearby when it gets too sunny. Clean bathrooms are numerous and it's so bright and airy everywhere you go. Food quality is great, but pricey as to be expected. Great displays in the museums when you need to escape to a/c, but beautiful gardens for when you want to venture out.

Each time I visit LA I make a trip to the Getty. Outside of the parking fee, the museum itself is FREE. The collection is superb for all mediums and eras, with of course it offering the incredibly rare opportunity to see in person multiple Rembrandts. The picturesque view and lanscape may rival the art for some, but it will be hard for most not to spend the day inside looking at all of the masterpieces.

Wow..... Did not get to see the entire museum because of timing but i will DEFINATELY be back. this museum is so beautiful, it's on a hill right off the shoreline. It is amazing, I cant wait to come here again!!!

One of the best art museums I've been too. The museum sits on top of the mountain with beautiful views of the city. They have an extensive art collection and also a beautiful garden that you can walk through. This was one highlight of my trip. My family and I took an Uber to get to the museum since there is a lot of heavy traffic driving in California. They do have a drop off and pick up area for Uber. One you arrive at the museum you take a short train ride up the mountain and brings you to the entrance of the museum.

Beautiful property with many activities outside and inside. Visit gardens, enjoy a snack or meal at the cafe or restaurant, experience exquisite artwork, sculpture, photography and furniture collected by Paul Getty of Getty Oil fame. Every view presents Los Angeles in all its faces. Parking available; visitors take tram up to the venue. Tours available. All activities are free; one only pays for parking.

Fabulous views that sweep from the Hollywood Hills, across downtown LA to Santa Monica. Great rotating exhibits, beautiful gardens and dining options. Grab a bottle of wine and head to the lawn for a relaxing visit or enjoy the beautiful restaurant with ocean views. The Getty is a must visit.

A must see spot if you ve never visited it and very worthy visiting even if you ve been there before as the museum rotates their exhibits. I generally bring visiting family and friends here as a must see while they re in SoCal.

The main facility is nestled up on a hill overlooking Hollywood and the surrounding areas. A good destination even when it s raining as most of the museum is set indoors.

You do have to pay for parking, but visiting the museum is free. Once your park, you hop on a little tram that takes you up the side of the hill and to the base of the museum where you ll find yourself in a large courtyard giving way to the various portions of the center.

Amazing Museum: if you're looking for a really cool Museum to take your family to the Getty museum is one of the best museums there are out there and on top of that it's free the only thing you had to pay for its parking the really cool part that I like is that you park your car and then you wait in this line and you take this tram up this mountain and it's so cool you get to take really cool pictures of the city of La and you also have a really cool experience just being on a tram if you never been on one before I highly recommend this Museum to anyone the artist grade it will take a long time to visit every exhibit but for the most part it's one of the best free museums in LA County so if you ever want to take anyone to a free museum and get a really good experience go to the Getty Museum another great thing is that you can also bring your own food and sit in the grass area and have like a picnic when my family went there about 4 months ago we brought our own food and we had a little picnic outside in the grass area the weather was perfect just make sure it's during the summer time unless you like to Winter of course . have a great time.

This place is huge, amazing, and beautiful. The staff are also helpful. I love that entry is free, however you have to pay for parking. You also get a spectacular view of Downtown LA. The garden is neat albeit not big. The food court is located on the lower level. I came here for Van Gogh's Irises and I was not disappointed. You can even buy a $15 print at the museum shop.
