A beautiful way to show respect to the 9/11 victims. A gorgeous Memorial with a beautiful tribute to the towers and the innocent lives taken.

I was in probably in the 7th or the 8th grade when I first visited here. This is a very interesting place. Although whenever I visit here the feeling of the gravity and the impact of the unfortunate event back in 2001 (9/11) will and will always be very present, It's a very nostalgic place.

Very important and moving memorial. Well worth everyone's time and donations.

Is unique it means a lot to lots of people and the structure is beautiful.

This place truly touched my heart. It is very well done! It is clean and well organized. There is a lot to see. But mostly, I could feel the tragedy and loss of all those who perished in the twin towers, at the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania. And although I was very saddened by what occurred on 9/11, I also came out of the memorial feeling very patriotic. So many strangers came together that day to save those that could be saved and to recover those who were not so fortunate. I felt the strength of our country and our citizens. This is what makes each of us strong - the feeling of community we have when the chips are down. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience the 9/11 Memorial. It was awe inspiring. I would highly recommend seeing this Memorial.

Very surreal place. If u get to NY, this is a must see.

FOR ITS A BIT HARD, I WORKED FOR MANY YEARS IN THOSE TWO BUILDINGS, TODAY I SEE HOW STRONG WE ARE....GO AND VISIT.

Nothing to say. Such a deeply emotional visit! The artifacts are gut-churning. The Memorial evoked memories and emotions I didn't know existed inside me, an outsider looking in. The water reservoirs with the names of the deceased inscribed on the sides were very touching. Really would recommend everyone to pay a visit and remember those who died in this ghastly tragedy. The atmosphere was affecting but peaceful and dignified. The memorial fountains have the name of every unfortunate soul who lost their life. The staff put a white rose by names on their birth dates. The museum is located in between the two memorials. Its design cleverly combines an open view of the substructure and original supports with an artful industrial style. The exhibitions provided context and let the events stand for themselves while avoiding sensationalism; it was all the more powerful for this.

A beautiful memorial. The space is so large and serene, you truly feel how huge this loss was for America. There is an inside section that is very sad, with last words on the wall. You won't leave with a dry eye.

A must see spot! Only four stars because of how rude security was to the public. I mean there's doing your job and there's going the extra mile to give you a hard time going through security. Don't let this discourage you . Go and see it.

Fabulous facility. So thoughtfully presented to respect all those who perished in 9/11. Fantastic architectural design, visual displays, audio recordings, digital displays. Waited only 10 mins to get in and well worth it.

One of the most emotional places I have ever been to. The entire place is done in great taste and very well presented. Allow at least a couple of hours to see as much as possible. You could easily spend twice that much time there. There are actual pieces of the buildings and contents on display and several rooms with videos and audio of the events. Security is tight but the lines mpve pretty quickly. A definite highlight of the 3 day visit to the city.

This is really impressing and very touching! Just two large holes in the ground with water flowing in it, but it kind of describes what 9/11 left in all of us. Every single name of those, who died there is on the memorial. I also recommend the musem for those, who want to have more information about 9 11 and what happened there. I think they made it in a touching way.

What an incredible memorial to all those affected by the tragedy. Bring tissues, a lot of tissues. I could have spent days here but my heart couldn't take it. No photos in the main exhibits, quite traumatic so maybe not appropriate for young children. East access via the path and subway.

Beautiful, very moving and well done. The fountains are so peaceful. The names light up at dusk. The museum is beautifully well done, as well. My heart and prayers goes out to all of the families and friends who lost loved ones.

One of of the most important places to go and see in NYC. The memorial is expansive and pays a huge tribute. Don't just see the fountains outside as you will be missing out on the huge amount of dedication that's been put together. I recommend you go to visit as early as you can in the day as it will take a few hours to cover everything, book online to avoid queues. Most of the memorial cannot be photographed so you will have to see it in person. There is a lack of seating throughout the journey so be prepared for a long time walking.

It s a very nice place to look at artifacts for September eleventh. It tells you a lot about what happened that day. Recommend coming here if you come here.

Somber. Powerful. When you see the enormous base of both towers its easier to understand the damage done that fateful day. Be respectful. Don't be a bad tourist. People who lost loved ones still come here. It's an actual grave site.

My wife and I went there in May 2019, we both were touched by the memorial, absolutely beautiful tribute to the victims of this tragedy. We were there for about 2 hours and were just in awe of what we experienced, as we were walking around and all the people that were there and at the time there was construction of buildings, I noticed afterwards that while we were there it seemed like all outside noise was muted and I then realized how powerful this memorial is

What a beautiful dismal memorial. It is impactful and thought provoking while being very accessible and interesting. I was surprised to see the mall right there but it is a nice way to bring people down and in and give people places to warm up in winter, cool down in summer and they have good eateries.

Huge collection of audio and visual records of a chilling and sad historical event. Would definitely recommend, it'll make you value everything a lot more too.

The place is tastefully design. It surely a place to pay tribute to the people who lost their life that day. I was here about 3 years ago, and revisiting this time, still overwhelmed me. The 2 reflecting pools with the water constantly running, I found that smoothing and meaningful.

Seriously moving. Or guide round the site was incredible. A very moving place to visit. I didn't expect to feel as emotional about it as I did. Although this site commemorates such a traffic event, it somehow ends up being an uplifting experience. I feared that the memorial might feel a bit ghoulish, but it definitely does not. If you are visiting New York, I would say this is something that you should definitely do.

A very haunting and powerful place. Tissues are offered in certain places but I would highly recommend bringing some of your own too. Incredibly difficult not to tear up as you walk in the very place where such tragedy occurred. The museum has done an incredible job laying out the story and including so many survivors tales. Expect to spend several hours there. If you are someone who is easily emotional, a walk down by the water afterwards offers some peaceful reflection time.

Its impossible to experience all there is to do here. So I.m.o. I wouldn't even try. Enjoy the experiences that you've came to witness. And I GUARANTEE you will not leave feeling like you've missed something. The oculus is the only part I would recommend as a MUST SEE EXPERIENCE. ONLY because it is indescribably a brilliant piece of architectural genius that just cannot be explained. I also recommend visiting the actual spot where tpwer 1 tower 2 actually stood. Its heart -breaking and mesmerizing at the same time. # WE WILL NEVER FORGET # AMERICAN PRIDE # UNITED WE STAND.

Intense and impressive museum. Make you think about a lot of things after you visit this museum... lot of souvenirs coming back I really recommend visiting it, the story telling is really well done and reflect well the event

Absolutely stunning, humbling, and a honor to have gone there! Seeing the great care that's taken in it is so moving and beautiful. The placement of the white roses on their names for those who would be celebrating a birthday brought me to MORE tears! It was definitely worth the three hour drive!!

Compelling and moving memorial. Completely exceeded our expectations and was an immersive experience of the events most of us could only watch unfold on television. A very well done memorial which honors the victims of the horrible event but which also honors the brave men and women who shouldered the heavy burden of recovery.

I had the best of times when I visited NY. However it was just after 9/11. It was truly moving to see the tributes on the streets. So very sad to see the faces of many who lost their lives. The terrible devastation of the surrounding area and the clean up, but most of all the tributes. We did meet a couple in Central Park, a fireman and a nurse, who met whilst dealing with the tragedy. It was lovely to hear their love story amongst the devastation, and the bleaness of NY at that time. Their love blossomed and a year later they were still together. I hope their love continued.

You can't come here and not shed a tear. The museum is worth the trip, very sad, but informative, and given the subject, it does a good job of telling the 9/11 story. Give yourself a minimum of 2 hours inside, maybe 3.

This memorial was incredible. It was so well presented and a must see. It is so emotional but definitely worth the visit. I definitely want to go again.

I was a kid on 9/11 but it marked me and this is the first time I go and man it hard. I got emotional and couldn't understand how others didn't take the site for what it is, a solemn place, one worthy of remembrance not being on the phone cussing or jumping around all happy, that ticked me off the disrespect towards a memorial. I also noticed, kids born after 1999 won't take this as something they lived through but merely around chapter on their history books and a "historical site". This pains me. I prayed for everyone involved on that day :(

Really nice workmanship. That probably impresses everyone. At that time we all perceived the disaster and it was so nice to see with our own eyes how people got together and built something new.

It was cool to see, the pools are big, and very interesting. It has that good feeling that you get every now and then.

Words can't justify the feeling you get when you see this in person for the first time. You walk up to the memorial and you can hear a pin drop. It is just so surreal. And to see the Freedom Tower standing tall at 1776 feet just gives you chills. God bless America!

This is a must do when visiting Manhattan, so emotional and so much information. Be prepared to spend several hours here.

An absolutely amazing and emotional experience, fought back tears throughout the tour. An amazing and somber reflection on what was one of the most memborable and sad days of my life. A must visit for anyone who is a first time visitor to New York City.

Beautiful place, you must visit this renovated square. The subway station is brand new as everything around and if you feel hungry you can have a meal at the Eataly (google it and you will find) which is very close.

This is an awe inspiring place that everyone should make time to visit and reflect.

Sobering yet magnificent monument/park. Well worth your time even if you don t want to do the visitor center or a guided tour. The victims names written all around the waterfalls with flowers placed on a given name when it is their birthday is touching and makes it difficult to keep your eyes dry.

They must be on any trip to NYC. It is an important and somber place to visit. You can sense the gravity and importance of this place when you go.

First time being here since the new memorial was completed, WOW!!! Lots of emotion tied up in this place, respectively. I'm a Tx FF and it even hit me hard. Going thru, seeing everything, listening to everything, sitting in the memories room....just wow. It's a definite must see if you're interested in the event, you're a FF or for whatever reason you have. It's truly an amazing place.

We took the early admission tour. Great collection of items, video, and structure that explained what took place in a timeline sequence. The tour explained more about the structure and the significance of it. The early admission allowed us to walk through the displays without the noise and the crowed. I recommend also stopping by the small snack bar for sandwich and soup. Turkey and potato soup was great.

A place of remembrance, you are not just because you want to, even silence can be your friend, never forget.

I was very pleased with the tour and the museum, itself. I have two teenage kids that were born on or after 2001. I feel that the 9/11 museum helped them get a small grasp of why their world is the way it is and how this one event changed not just thousands, but hundreds of millions of lives. That being said, for the out of towner (like myself), be wary! Order your tickets online if you don't want to stand in a really long and confusing line(s). Don't expect good crowd control, as there is little to no signage and the staff are over whelmed by the masses, which make them grumpy, as well. They could learn a thing or two from Disney. However, I feel that if anyone visits NYC for either work or vacation, a visit to this museum is a must to remember how and why we got to where we are today, in America.

Important part of NYC and American history and remembrance of the events on 9-11-01. They did a great job in memorializing and explaining every aspect from leading up to, the day, and the aftermath. A must see, buy the prepaid ticket to avoid the long line. Must go through a air port style check so be prepared for that.

The 9/11 memorial was truly beautiful and haunting at the same time. A place tourists must visit when seeing Manhattan and spend a few minutes taking the time to remember and appreciate. Though, be respectful, there are too many people taking selfies with this memorial which I felt to be very disrespectful. This memorial is not a novelty it's for remembrance. If you get the chance, I also recommend the museum, it is very interesting though can be a little overwhelming. It also takes about 2 hours to see everything.

It's a must to visit and pay respect to those who lost their lives. We found the experience in the museum and at the memorial very emotional, viewing the displays and reading/listening to accounts . A credit to you USA for creating this commemorative place to so many that perished. Memories never fade in our hearts.

Definitely something you should experience. This review includes the memorial museum as well. The museum is intense. Probably the easiest way to describe it. Intense. Don't expect a lot of talking as you go through. Take in as much as you can. Photo opportunities will be limited.

So powerful!!! Get your passes online before you go to help speed up your process. People understand, for the most part, where you are and what your expectations are as a human being in a memorial where thousands of innocent lives where lost. I only cried twice. The enormity of the tragedy is only fathomed by the intense immersion of being in the last building these souls breathed their last and the selfless sacrifices many paid by laying down their lives trying to saves those in need. When you are in tactile contact with the foundations of this epic pillar of vision, both to what we can accomplish together and to what our enemies hearts see in jealously, you begin to connect with those we lost and with the others around you, we are Americans.

I am so very disappointed! My family and I were going to go the the 9/11 Memorial during our February break. Then COVID-19 happened and we were afraid to travel to NYC, so we tried to cancel our tickets (It said online we could). When I inquired about a refund, they sent me an email stating the tickets are non-refundable. I didn't CHOOSE to not go...there's a world wide pandemic and everything is now shut down. I have no paid over $80 for nothing. I think this is HORRIBLE to do to someone during these times of uncertainty. We should all be kind and understanding to one another. NOT adding more stress and financial problems.

Well done. We were with a large group and only had time to visit the Memorial so this review won't help those wanting to hear about the Museum. The 9/11 Memorial is large and impressive. We have an equally impressive Memorial here in Oklahoma for an equally horrific event. One of the really excellent features of the 9/11 Memorial was how the falling water is designed to mask out the sounds of the city making it much easier to remember and reflect. It is very well done and a must see, in my opinion, for anyone visiting New York City. If we ever get back to the City we will certainly take time to see the Museum and were sorry that we were not able to do so this trip.

**TIP** The Memorial is FREE, I thought it was actually part of the Museum combo and had a price to it. So just for those who might be wondering or not (It happened to me). **TIP #2** If you buy your tickets online and it says you have to print them, you can actually show them at the museum entrance. I didnt have to print mine. The memorial is a sight to see, very beautiful and quite powerful when you think about it all. I saw it during a very sunny day and it was great but have also seen pictures at night and it looks spectacular with the lights on. The Museum on the other hand is very informative and powerful in terms of how it will make you feel. They have LOADS of information and things to look at, you can speed rush through it in about an hour and a half but to properly look at everything, it's more like 2 hours and a half. There is a guided tour which you can purchase once inside but it's not needed.

A very moving and dignified memorial experience. The large number of exhibits and extensive explanations give depth to each part of the memorial. The areas are large enough to take bigger groups through, and the exhibit is thoughtful in terms of providing warnings for particularly distressing parts of the displays. A must for anybody visiting the city

This is an incredibly touching location. What the city has done with the site is perfect to help people reflect on what happened righy where you are stranding. This is definitely one of the locations in the world that pictures will never do it justice, you need to feel it too

It's hard to write the experience , when you realize how many lives and families have been shattered here and how the world has incredibly polarized after it, no trip to NYC is a real trip if you miss the terrible tragic history that you witness here

Wow, this memorial is incredibly well done. Be warned - the heaviness of the exhibits may not hit you until later in the day. The museum does a good job being sensitive and posting warnings for parts of the exhibit that may be triggering or disturbing. They provide a thorough exhibit not just about the horrors that occured on 9/11, but the history leading up to the day and the response afterwards. The exhibits transition nicely between looking at things on a large scale but also on a very individual, human scale. It's eerie being in the base of the towers, but also so powerful. I believe this is a must see in NYC - it is a unifying experience that leaves you wanting to be a little kinder and more appreciative for all you have in life.

Great curation of 9/11 mementos, great use of displays - the flight tracks and countdown to the attacks were very informative. Very moving display of photographs and physical remnants of the twin towers - the remaining flight of stairs on Vesey Street, half showing their tiles and half in raw concrete, stood out. The last column and the half melted tridents give you an idea of the scale of the destruction.

This was my first time to the museum since 911 , I had worked the area after the attack on a foot post 2 blocks away and had not returned to the area since retiring in 2005 . The area looks awesome, went down to the museum it was hard seeing faces of friends I lost during the attack. I love what they have done so every one who comes here can walkway understanding how hard it was to be here when this happened. After you experience the museum and see it I cant believe that you will ever forget what happened here.

It's a must see while visiting New York...its free to walk around but the observatory and the museum are not...if you r planning to visit any of those try to book ahead, show up as early as possible to avoid the long queue and better to have the fast track ticket rather than wasting your time waiting in a queue. Getting there: take the R or W subway to Cortlandt St station and you will be there.
